The curtain has fallen on this year’s edition of the MWC. By all accounts the largest so far, this year’s event has once again confirmed that the mobile industry is certainly amongst the frontrunners when it comes to technical innovation, new ideas and creativity.

This year we were extremely well represented in Barcelona with our biggest stand to date and just as well as this year we hosted a record number of visitors and meetings. We took the opportunity to unveil our revolutionary Centili™ m-payments platform powered by direct mobile billing technology. Mobile payments are very much part of the future and Centili™ enables both operators and merchants to profit from this lucrative market via a user-friendly system that brings significant added value to all participants in the chain.

Centili™ is the natural evolution of all our years of experience in our core business – messaging. Modern telecoms trends put a lot of pressure on the operators’ telecoms infrastructure as well as their bottom line, but there are still numerous business opportunities in technologies that are unjustly considered obsolete, such as A2P SMS and USSD. There is great demand from the enterprise sector for interactive mobile communication and our mGate™ enterprise messaging gateway and USSD system have been extremely well received. We’re proud to see our A2P messaging solutions contribute to both ends of the spectrum – generating revenue for operators through providing value-added services for enterprises.

mGate™ and USSD are just two of many revenue generators for operators that we offer – direct connections and A2P-specific SMSCs are pure revenue generators, while all forecasts indicate that A2P SMS, not P2P SMS will drive profitability in the coming years.

We’ve always based our business on research, development and innovation and all our engineers are experts in SS7, the core telecommunications protocol. One of our core systems is our sGate™ filtering system that allows operators to control their incoming messaging traffic and reduce losses generated by unsolicited and unwanted SMS traffic. We recognise and value the central position of operators in the mobile ecosystem and we have many ideas and many tools that can help them improve their financial and network performance dramatically.

The MWC has once again confirmed that we have another very exciting year in mobile ahead of us. As ever we will continue to engage in meaningful and productive dialogue with all our many and diverse partners from all segments of this exciting market in order to provide proactive and technologically advanced solutions and services. The opportunities are huge and the possibilities endless. We are certainly looking forward to the challenge and would once again like to thank the organisers of this world class event for doing such a fantastic job.
