The United States are arguably the most important mobile market in the world, where all the latest technologies, gadgets and business processes get adopted first and practically tested for the rest of the world. Being present in the U.S. is a challenging task and we're excited and proud to be a part of the most vibrant global mobile market.

Presenting our range of mobile messaging solutions and the latest addition to our range of innovative mobile technologies, the Centili m-payments platform, we will be exhibiting at two major events this May. The two shows have their different scopes and target audiences, but both share a great number of delegates from the entire mobile industry segment.

The CTIA Wireless is the premier telecoms and mobile event in the Americas, with over 40,000 delegates and 1,000 exhibitors over two days in The Big Easy, New Orleans. With exhibitors and delegates from mobile operators, ISPs, service providers and technology companies from all over the world, business is guaranteed.

Our established and renowned businesses in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa have set standards for providing innovative services to enterprises, helping them bridge the communication gap to their customers through mobile messaging. Likewise, our business models for mobile operators help monetise their network resources and often serve as an eye-opener in terms of savings and new revenue.

Now we're eager to bring the proven Infobip business model and our global experience to partners and clients in the Americas, but also share our expertise with the American business audience who will surely find ways to utilise it. With the CEO, the COO and VP Sales present, these two shows will receive the attention the delegates, the events and the market truly deserve.

On 21 March in Barcelona, our executives will attend Mobeyday, one of the series of events by MobeyForum, the leading mobile financial industry association. Co-organised by one of Europe's leading banks La Caixa, Mobeyday is the top European forum for the mobile financial industry.

MobeyForum connects banks, mobile operators and solution providers with the goal of standardising the mobile financial ecosystem and working out a sustainable business model, but also tackling technology and security related issues. Infobip has been an active member even before the launch of the Centili m-payments platform, participating in the forum’s security and fraud prevention working groups.

Our focus in the mobile financial sector has only widened with Centili. Advanced messaging solutions such as the mGate enterprise messaging gateway help banks engage their customers via the most widespread telecoms channel – SMS, but also help prevent frauds by providing relevant and time-critical alerts. Banks are our important enterprise clients and we’re proud to be a major contributor to shaping this fast-growing industry of the future.

Infobip execs will also be participating in other events focusing on mobile financial services around the globe this year, hyped to be the turning point in m-payments. We’ll keep you posted of all the shows where you’ll be able to meet our representatives.

View gallery of Infobip images from this year's GSMA Mobile World Congress

The curtain has fallen on this year’s edition of the MWC. By all accounts the largest so far, this year’s event has once again confirmed that the mobile industry is certainly amongst the frontrunners when it comes to technical innovation, new ideas and creativity.

This year we were extremely well represented in Barcelona with our biggest stand to date and just as well as this year we hosted a record number of visitors and meetings. We took the opportunity to unveil our revolutionary Centili™ m-payments platform powered by direct mobile billing technology. Mobile payments are very much part of the future and Centili™ enables both operators and merchants to profit from this lucrative market via a user-friendly system that brings significant added value to all participants in the chain.

Centili™ is the natural evolution of all our years of experience in our core business – messaging. Modern telecoms trends put a lot of pressure on the operators’ telecoms infrastructure as well as their bottom line, but there are still numerous business opportunities in technologies that are unjustly considered obsolete, such as A2P SMS and USSD. There is great demand from the enterprise sector for interactive mobile communication and our mGate™ enterprise messaging gateway and USSD system have been extremely well received. We’re proud to see our A2P messaging solutions contribute to both ends of the spectrum – generating revenue for operators through providing value-added services for enterprises.

mGate™ and USSD are just two of many revenue generators for operators that we offer – direct connections and A2P-specific SMSCs are pure revenue generators, while all forecasts indicate that A2P SMS, not P2P SMS will drive profitability in the coming years.

We’ve always based our business on research, development and innovation and all our engineers are experts in SS7, the core telecommunications protocol. One of our core systems is our sGate™ filtering system that allows operators to control their incoming messaging traffic and reduce losses generated by unsolicited and unwanted SMS traffic. We recognise and value the central position of operators in the mobile ecosystem and we have many ideas and many tools that can help them improve their financial and network performance dramatically.

The MWC has once again confirmed that we have another very exciting year in mobile ahead of us. As ever we will continue to engage in meaningful and productive dialogue with all our many and diverse partners from all segments of this exciting market in order to provide proactive and technologically advanced solutions and services. The opportunities are huge and the possibilities endless. We are certainly looking forward to the challenge and would once again like to thank the organisers of this world class event for doing such a fantastic job. For more news and information on upcoming products, services and events that we will be attending kindly watch this space!

LONDON, UK, BARCELONA, SPAIN, PULA, CROATIA, 28 February 2012 – Infobip, one of the world's fastest growing messaging providers today announced the launch of its new mobile payments service for digital goods, dubbed Centili.

Completely developed in-house, Centili harnesses the direct mobile billing technology (carrier billing) which enables mobile payments by charging the user’s prepaid or post-paid mobile account.

By using direct relationships with mobile operators, Centili opens a way to disrupt the payments space by enabling merchants to easily monetise their services without the need for a credit card.

This service brings significant benefits to the entire ecosystem - merchants, developers, aggregators and mobile operators - by connecting online commerce and mobile operators worldwide. All the participants create new value and a significant revenue stream by providing new, previously untapped services.

In the words of Infobip’s CEO Silvio Kutic: “We’ve been in mobile for quite some time now, following and very often anticipating trends. Now we’ve translated our experience in mobile into this versatile and reliable mobile payments system, bridging the gap between merchants and mobile operators”.

Centili is the direct answer to the needs of the market. Merchants and developers are provided with a wide range of options, from an easy to integrate self-care portal enabling instant service setup and activation, to web widgets, APIs or in-app mobile purchasing.Centili supports different currencies and tax rates for international merchants.

An inherent part of Centili is cGate, a payments gateway that provides mobile operators with a direct mobile billing experience. cGate is provided as a hosted or cloud solution, bringing a carrier-grade service quality with versatile technical features for a high security and anti-fraud mechanism.

Infobip announces Centili during its exhibition at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. MWC is the world’s largest and most important stage for the mobile industry, and mobile payments are one of the leading topics at this year’s event. Infobip is exhibiting at stand no. 2B01.

Osservatorio Mobile Marketing & Services is the annual survey of the mobile marketing and services sector conducted by the School of Management of Milan's respected Politecnico university and Infobip is sponsoring the 2011 edition.

Independent research offers a balanced insight into the needs of the clients and the current and future market trends and sponsoring such a survey is a way to contribute to the industry. This analysis will bring us important information on the Italian market and also bring us increased visibility as we approach the Italian SMS market with greater focus than before.

From 23-26 November, our executives from the Moscow office attended the Bakutel 2011 telecoms exhibition and conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. As the largest and most established event of its kind in the Caspian-Caucasus region, it was a natural destination for our mobile messaging specialists in the Russia-CIS region.

The entire Caspian and Caucasus region is experiencing a sensational growth of its oil-based economy, and Azerbaijan and its capital and Caspian oil transport hub Baku, leads the way. Azerbaijan's gas and oil reserves have in turn fuelled other economic sectors, and telecoms and technology in particular. That's why Bakutel is an important stop in the series of telecoms industry events that mark the month of November.

Our delegation at the event was there to promote our range of SMS, HLR and m-payments solutions. Once again, our conviction that SMS is a hugely important and useful business tool has been proven correct, with numerous enterprises, banks, retailers and content providers expressing great interest in introducing it in their day-to-day customer communication. Contact was made with mobile operators as well, who are keen to try out our m-payments solution.

The sheer size and especially the economic potential of the Russia-CIS region and its subregions make it a major market for Infobip. This event has once again proved the importance of a regional approach to the global SMS market and our Moscow office is one of the oldest regional offices of Infobip and also one of our most successful.

The 2011 events season is slowly winding down and we're already prepping for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next February. In the meantime, check out some photos from our past events, including Bakutel, on our Flickr photostream here.

November is traditionally the busiest month as far as telecoms industry events are concerned. Two weeks back to back, the crème de la crème gathered in Cape Town for the Africa Com and in Hong Kong for the Mobile Asia Congress.

Infobip’s delegations to both events combined local experts from our regional offices in Johannesburg and Kuala Lumpur and high-ranking execs from the European HQ, including the CEO, the COO and the VP Sales. Exhibiting is important not only to keep contact with clients and partners, but also track current trends in mobile telecoms. We’re happy to see that our instincts are right and that SMS is still riding strong despite the onslaught of various smartphone apps.

Africa Com and MAC are different in their scope and audience, but both were a success and we’re already looking forward to 2012, when we’ll be again exhibiting in Cape Town and Hong Kong.

Soon we’ll be bringing you a wider coverage of the events, along with some photos. Make sure to stay tuned for updates!
