# Build with AI agents

Connect an AI agent to the platform through MCP. Then describe what you want in plain language. The agent can send messages, [verify users with 2FA](https://www.infobip.com/docs/get-started/explore/products-and-tools#verify-users-and-prevent-fraud), manage customer data and your account, or search the documentation.

## Connect your AI client

Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers let an AI agent work with the platform on your behalf. The servers are hosted for you, so you do not need to run them yourself. Each server covers a specific product area, giving the agent access only to the tools it needs.
Before you start, you need:

- An AI client that supports MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
- An account. Agents work with an account you already have. They do not create one.
- An API key with the scope the MCP server needs, if you authorize with an API key. A self-signup account has an API key by default. On other accounts, create one first. Add the scope if it is missing.

To connect:

1. Add the MCP server to your AI client. Each server covers one product area. For example, add https://mcp.infobip.com/sms to send SMS, or https://mcp.infobip.com/search to search the documentation.
2. Authorize the connection. Use OAuth 2.1, or an API key. With OAuth 2.1, the authorization starts automatically the first time you connect. An API key needs the [scope](https://www.infobip.com/docs/developer-resources/authentication-and-access/authorization-and-scopes) the server requires. For example, the SMS server requires sms:message:send.
3. Test the connection. Ask your agent to send a test SMS to your number. For example: "Send a test SMS to my number, then check whether it was delivered." A working setup sends the message and reports the status back. On a self-signup account on the free trial, the number must be a [verified recipient](https://www.infobip.com/docs/get-started/build-and-go-live/free-trial#verified-recipients).

Give the agent only the access it needs, especially for sending messages. For example, use an API key with only the scopes the task requires. For setup in each client, both authorization methods, and the full list of servers, see [Using Infobip MCP servers](https://www.infobip.com/docs/mcp/using-mcp).

## Early Access MCP servers

These servers are available in Early Access:

- [Provision MCP](https://www.infobip.com/docs/mcp/provision-mcp): Let an agent register senders, buy numbers, and set up channel senders.
- [Message MCP](https://github.com/infobip/mcp): Let an agent send text, image, or file messages across SMS, RCS, MMS, and Viber in one step.
- [Observe MCP](https://www.infobip.com/docs/mcp/observe-mcp): Let an agent read your traffic metrics, billing usage, message logs, and error codes.
