Traditionally, our engineering department here in Infobip organizes the annual Dev Days. It’s a company-wide engineering conference where people come from all over the world to exchange ideas, knowledge, and practices, participate in panel discussions and lectures, network, and meet their colleagues in person. And have fun, obviously.

Unfortunately, the conference didn’t take place this year, so we decided to organize our own mini-event within our business area!

The initiative came from one of the developers, Dmitry Dorofeev, and was well-met by everyone in our BA and even people outside it.

AI takes the prize

For Moments Days 2023 (named after our product Moments and CDP Business Area), we received a dozen topic submissions from our developers, engineering managers, quality engineers, UX researchers and designers, and even engineering and product directors.

The topics varied from security and infrastructure to user testing and using AI. After a full day of learning, there was voting for the best talk of the day, and Alexey Maltsev won the special prize – a 3D-printed statue of the Moments Days mascot – the duck!

The winning presentation was about how you can use Stable Diffusion to mix dog and spaghetti – it may sound crazy, but it’s a great and easily understandable illustration of how to operate with the AI tool settings.

Check out the talk (and the spaghetti dog):

A happy gathering

Not only did we get to see some awesome talks, but people were also hanging out online and in the meeting rooms, listening to the talks, eating pizza, and playing Scribble games during the breaks.

Moments Days 2023 got nice feedback from the attendees and showed us that even though Dev Days didn’t happen this time, we keep gathering and spreading the knowledge across Infobip!
