This year as a part of engagement with local tech communities, our DevRel team organized 15 meetups for developers and startups in Africa, Europe, and North America. The turnout at all of those events was amazing. Around 2000 developers, startups, and tech enthusiasts have attended our meetups so far. Although this year we put the accent on meetups in Africa, and our project of dev meetups was awarded as the best DevRel regional project at DevRelcon London 2023, we organized a few meetups in Berlin, London, Amsterdam, and Miami.

North America November 2023 tour

This year our colleagues from the Shift team organized the first Infobip Shift Conference outside of Croatia, it took place in Miami this May. Besides that in 2022 they also organized a Meetup Roadshow across North America. As our contribution to the building dev & startup communities in North America, we are happy to announce the Infobip Connect Meetup tour this November that will take place in Miami, New York City, and Toronto.

Miami

Our Meetup in Miami will be organized on November 2 at The Lab Miami, located in the Wynwood Arts District in Miami, the area known for its vibrant tech community. This will be our second Infobip Connect Meetup in the Miami area this year since we organized the first event this April in Fort Lauderdale.

We will be joined there by some familiar and some new speakers in the Miami meetup:

Priscilla Parodi, Principal Developer Advocate at Elastic

Chad Metcalf, Head of Strategy at Daytona

Allan Tito, Co-founder at Grammerhub

It will be great to reconnect with Priscilla and Allan, our speakers from the Fort Lauderdale meetup, and to meet Chad who will talk about startup Daytona, a development environment platform that simplifies the way developers work. At this meetup, our colleagues from Shift will announce the second edition of the Shift Miami Conference.

New York City

After Miami, we are travelling to New York City, where we will hold a meetup in the coworking hub The Farm Soho. The keynote speaker at this event shall be Adam Thomas, Principal at Approaching One & Product Management Coach. Adam’s keynote will be followed by an interesting panel about challenges and opportunities in NYC and the US startup ecosystem. Panelists will be:

Patrick McGinnis, International Venture Capitalist, Creator & Host of FOMO Sapiens

Beth Ferreira, Managing Director at FirstMark Capital

Filip Sasic, CEO and Founder of Entrepreneurs for Global Change

The moderator of the event will be Iva Vukina, president of the Association of Croatian American Professionals in New York City.

Toronto

Our last stop on the North America Infobip Connect tour this November will be Toronto on November 9. We will have a meetup there in Clubhouse Toronto, located in the downtown of the City. The keynote speaker at this meetup will be Laura Rodríguez, Staff SDK Engineer at Okta. Laura will talk about practices for a great developer experience. This keynote will follow an interesting panel discussion about the tech ecosystem in Toronto and Canada. Panelists will be:

Yuri Navarro, Managing Partner at Kanata Ventures

Roy Pereira, CEO and Co-founder at Unified

Nikola Pavesic, Director of Startup Ecosystem at Infobip

The Infobip Developer Relations team speaker on this tour will be Mike Elsmore. He will be talking about SDKs, Developer Experience, and Conversation UI (depending on which event you catch him at)

RVSP for all our meetups is free and we can’t wait to meet local developers, startups, and tech enthusiasts.

See you in Miami, NYC, and Toronto!
