Toll-Free Number verification
Toll-Free Numbers (TFN) now require verification for all SMS-related terminations. This industry-wide requirement helps combat spam and foster a more trusted messaging ecosystem through stronger verification and message filtering.
As of January 31, 2024, all unverified Toll-Free Numbers will be blocked from sending messages. Only fully verified TFNs are permitted to run traffic.
Any Unverified numbers are automatically blocked by Infobip and return the error code 488, EC_TF_NUMBER_NOT_VERIFIED
. For more information on error codes, see Response status and error codes.
Verify TFN in the US Sender Registration app
To start the verification process, create or update a TFN brand in the US Sender Registration app. Make sure that you provide all the required information, including the correct contact details.
When your TFN brand is created:
- Create a TFN campaign. The campaign then transitions to a Submitted for Review status. Infobip reviews the brand and campaign for compliance with US messaging content standards.
- When the campaign validates successfully, your TFN transitions to a Submitted to Carrier status, ready to go through additional reviews.
- Once all reviews are complete, the campaign transition into a Registered status.
You can also manage and track rejections and appeals through the US Sender Registration app.
Verify TFN over API
To verify Toll-Free Numbers over API, use the USA Number Registration API.
