Apple Messages for Business
Business Update message renamed to Invitation
Apple Messages for Business supports a message type that allows a business to reach an end user using their phone number instead of the opaque ID that is standard for the channel. Previously, this message type was called Business Update.
Apple renamed this message type to Invitation to reflect its purpose more accurately. The message invites the end user to accept further communication from the business over Apple Messages for Business. The message is hard-coded and can include text, an image, and the brand name.
Key features
- Business Update message type renamed to Invitation
- The message uses the end user phone number instead of the opaque ID to initiate a conversation
- The message behavior and API remain unchanged
For more information, see the Apple Messages for Business product documentation.
Analyze
Email reputation report
EARLY ACCESS
You can now monitor the sending reputation of your email traffic directly in Analyze. The new email reputation report helps you detect deliverability issues faster and take proactive corrective action.
Previously, there was no native way to track sending reputation within the Infobip platform, and you had to rely on third-party tools. Now you can track all key reputation signals in one place.
What's new
- Reputation by sending IP or envelope domain: Generate reports using one of two mutually exclusive dimensions to isolate which sending identity is affecting deliverability.
- Sender score: View an overall reputation score (0–100) based on bounce rate, spam complaints, blocklist impact, spam trap hits, and unknown user rate.
- Email authentication metrics: Track SPF, DKIM, and DMARC success rates to verify that your emails pass industry-standard authentication checks.
- Blocklist status: Check whether your sending IP or envelope domain appears on major blocklists such as Spamhaus, SORBS, and SpamCop.
- Inbox provider reputation: View reputation scores from Google Postmaster Tools and Microsoft SNDS.
Key benefits
- Track reputation health, blocklist status, and authentication results in one place without relying on third-party tools.
- Identify reputation issues faster, reducing the time between problem occurrence and resolution.
- Segment data by sending IP or envelope domain to pinpoint which sending identity is causing issues.
Sender score data is available only for sending identities with higher traffic volumes. Accounts below this threshold can still access authentication-based reputation signals such as Google Postmaster and Microsoft SNDS.
For more details, see Email reputation report.
Conversations and Inbox
Voice agent support in Live analytics
The Active calls table now includes two new columns, available in both Conversations and Inbox:
- Call count: the number of times the customer has called in the last 24 hours.
- SLA: FRT: the remaining time to meet the first response time SLA. After an agent answers a call, shows whether the SLA FRT was breached at the time of the answer.
In Inbox, the Live analytics tab also includes AI agent activity in the Active calls overview. The In IVR card has been replaced by a new Voice automation card that groups IVR and AI agent calls together, with a breakdown by type. The With agent card is now labeled With human agent, and the Agents section is renamed to Human agents.
For more information, refer to the Inbox analytics, Conversations Live analytics, or Voice AI agents documentation.
RCS
Expanded URL limits
Previously, URL character limits in RCS messages restricted the length of URLs that could be included in message content, which could cause issues with long tracking URLs or deep links.
URL character limits for RCS messages have been expanded in the RCS Messaging API, allowing longer URLs in suggested actions, buttons, and message text.
Key features
- Expanded URL character limits for RCS messages
- Applies to suggested actions, buttons, and inline URLs
- Available in the RCS Messaging API
Support for other tools and APIs (Messaging API, Broadcast) is planned for a future release.
For more information, see the RCS API reference (opens in a new tab).
Webhook filtering and platform parameters for RCS Sender Management
Previously, RCS Sender Management webhook event types were not explicitly defined, and webhook payloads did not include platform-level parameters configured at the sender level.
RCS Sender Management webhooks can now be filtered based on specific criteria such as sender and event type. Webhook payloads are enriched with additional platform-level parameters configured at the sender level (Application and Entity).
Key features
- RCS Sender Status Update, RCS Sender Launch Status Update, and RCS Sender Number Status Update events contain a unique event type definition for easier identification
- Filter webhook delivery through Subscription Management to reduce noise
- Webhook payloads include CPaaS X parameters (
ApplicationandEntity) set at the sender level
For more information, see RCS over API.
Subscriptions
New email bounce rate notification events
Two new notification event types are now available for email domain bounce rate monitoring via subscriptions.
HIGH_BOUNCE_RATE_WARNING: Fires when a sending domain's bounce rate reaches a high threshold. Use this as an early signal to review your list quality or sending practices before deliverability is affected.HIGH_BOUNCE_RATE_BLOCKED: Fires when a sending domain has been blocked due to sustained high bounce rates. Subscribe to this event to get immediate notification when a block occurs so you can take corrective action.
Both events are delivered through the existing subscription webhook infrastructure.
For the full list of available email events, see Event subscriptions. To set up or update a subscription for these events, see the Create subscription (opens in a new tab) API reference.
WhatsApp usernames: Identity fields now in webhooks
As part of the ongoing rollout of WhatsApp Usernames, new identity fields are now live in Infobip webhooks.
From end of May 2026, every inbound message webhook includes contact.userId (business-scoped user ID) alongside the phone number. When a user has adopted a username, contact.username also appears. These changes are additive. No existing fields are removed.
This is the first step in a two-stage rollout. The new identity fields are available now for all customers. Phone number hiding begins in June 2026 in a selected group of countries, with a global rollout following later in the year.
What you need to do
- Store user IDs in your CRM: Plan where
contact.userIdwill live and start building your phone-to-user-ID mapping as new interactions arrive. - Check your webhook parsing: New fields are additive, but confirm your integration handles them without breaking.
For the full integration checklist, field reference, and API payload examples, see WhatsApp usernames and business-scoped user IDs.
Automatic archival for unused message templates
Starting May 4, 2026, WhatsApp automatically archives message templates that have been inactive for 12 months or more across all WhatsApp Business Accounts. A template is inactive if it has had no creates, sends, edits, appeals, or unarchives during that period.
Key features
- Archived templates can be unarchived within 28 days to restore them to their previous status.
- After 28 days, they are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
- Active templates are not affected.
No immediate action is required. To review or unarchive templates, go to WhatsApp Manager (opens in a new tab). For more details, see Message templates.
GIF media header in message templates
Message templates now support GIF as a media header type, giving you a more dynamic alternative to static images for marketing campaigns. GIF headers can be created via the API or selected directly in the Portal template editor.
Technical requirements
- GIF files must be in
.mp4format. - Maximum file size: 3.5 MB. Files larger than 3.5 MB are delivered as a video message, not a GIF.
GIF media headers are supported exclusively for Marketing Messages API (MM API). Templates with a GIF header sent using Cloud API will fail. Make sure your WhatsApp Business Account is enrolled in Marketing Messages API before using this header type.
For more details, see GIF media header and Message templates.
In-thread authentication
EARLY ACCESS
You can now verify customer identity directly within the WhatsApp conversation using passkeys and biometric confirmation. No app switching, no SMS codes, no friction.
How it works
- You send an authentication request within the chat.
- The customer confirms using their passkey combined with fingerprint, Face ID, or device PIN.
- WhatsApp returns a cryptographic confirmation to your system.
No biometric data is shared with Meta, Infobip, or your business. Authentication happens entirely on the customer's device.
In-thread authentication messages can only be sent if the recipient has contacted your business within the last 24 hours.
Program details
- Available as a new interactive message type through the Infobip WhatsApp API
- Full technical onboarding support provided by Infobip
- Currently available in Brazil, Mexico, and India
To join the early access program and get full program details, contact your Infobip account manager.
Max-price feature for Marketing Messages API
EARLY ACCESS
Max-price is a new billing feature for Marketing Messages API (MM API) that gives businesses greater control over messaging costs. Instead of a fixed rate per destination, you set a maximum bid per message at the template level. Meta charges at most your bid, and may charge less depending on delivery conditions.
Key benefits
- Custom bid control: Set the maximum amount you're willing to pay per message when creating a template.
- Per-message bids: Use a bid multiplier to adjust bids at the individual message level without creating a new template.
- Reach and cost estimation: Get a business-level estimate of delivery rate and cost based on your max bid, using historical data.
- Bid adjustment: Edit the bid on an existing template. Adding a bid to a template that was created without one is not supported.
This is a closed early access program with limited spots. To join or get full details, contact your Infobip account manager.
