Signals reports

Signals reports give you visibility into Infobip anti-fraud protection activity on your account. They show how much traffic was attempted and how much of it Signals blocked due to a high-risk score for pumping fraud. They also show the estimated cost savings from blocking that traffic.

Use Signals reports when you need to:

  • Track the volume of traffic blocked by Signals fraud protection
  • Analyze blocked traffic rates by channel, country, or network
  • Break down blocked traffic and savings per account, or per CPaaS X application and entity
  • Track estimated cost savings from fraud prevention
  • Report on anti-fraud performance to stakeholders

To view the same metrics interactively for a specific month, use the Signals savings dashboard in Analyze. For messaging costs across all channels, use Financial reports instead.

IMPORTANTData for the current month is provisional and may change until finalized on the 5th of the following month. Always verify estimated savings against your monthly invoice before using them for financial commitments.

Access and availability

To access Signals reports, your account or at least one account in your hierarchy must have Signals fraud protection enabled. Accounts that had Signals enabled at any point within the report retention period also qualify. Contact your account manager to enable Signals.

You need the Analyze Manager role, plus either the Finance Manager or Account Admin role. See account settings for role management.

If you log in as a main account, you see data for all Signals-enabled accounts in your hierarchy. Metrics include only traffic from accounts that have Signals enabled. If you log in as a sub-account, you see only your own account data.

Coverage

Signals reports cover outbound traffic on the following channels:

SMSVoice

For Voice, the report covers outbound phone calls. In the report, Voice traffic appears under the Voice and Video category, with Phone as the subcategory.

NOTESignals reports include outbound traffic only, because Signals does not block inbound traffic. Reports created in the previous version of Signals reports also counted inbound traffic, so Total attempted traffic can be lower than in those reports.

Period and schedule

Select a date range for the report and choose whether it runs once (One-time report) or on a recurring schedule (Recurring report). Reports use UTC.

One-time report [#one-time-report-period-and-schedule]

Select a Date range preset. Custom date ranges are not available.

OptionDetails
PresetsYesterday (default), Last 7 days, This month, Last month, Last 3 months, Last 6 months, Last 12 months. Last 7 days covers today and the previous 6 days. Presets include the current day or month, so the most recent data is provisional.
RetentionUp to 12 months. The Day dimension is available only for date ranges up to 92 days. Month, or no time dimension, is available for the full 12 months.

Recurring report [#recurring-report-period-and-schedule]

Recurring Signals reports run monthly and deliver finalized data for the previous month. Only the generation time is configurable.

SettingDescription
Report forLast month. Fixed.
FrequencyMonthly. Fixed.
Day of month5. Fixed, because data for the previous month is finalized on the 5th.
Start creating report atThe time each report is generated, in UTC. The default is 06:00.

For example, the report delivered on July 5 includes finalized data for June.

IMPORTANTRecurring Signals reports created in the previous version of Signals reports no longer generate. To keep receiving monthly Signals reports, create a new recurring report.

Report structure and grouping logic

The Structure section of the report builder has two columns: dimensions determine how rows are grouped, and metrics determine the values calculated for each row. To change the column order in your report, drag a dimension or metric to a new position.

In the tables in this section, "all channels" refers to the channels listed under Coverage.

Dimensions [#dimensions-report-structure-and-grouping-logic]

Dimensions define how report rows are grouped. Account and Currency are always included. Some dimensions depend on the date range or on the account type. Select Select all to add every dimension.

If you do not select Day or Month, the report aggregates the whole date range into one row for each combination of the selected dimensions.

Metrics [#metrics-report-structure-and-grouping-logic]

Create a Signals report

  1. In the web interface, go to Analyze > Reports.
  2. Under Signals, select Signals savings.
  3. Select Create report.
  4. In the Channels and services section, all channels are selected by default: SMS (outbound) and Voice (phone, outbound). Clear any that are not relevant.
  5. In the Period and schedule section, choose between a one-time or recurring report and select the date range. See Period and schedule above.
  6. In the Structure section, select the dimensions to group by and the metrics to measure. Account and Currency are always included, and all metrics are selected by default. See Report structure and grouping logic above.
  7. In the Filters section, optionally select Add new filter to narrow the results. See Available filters above.
  8. In the Export options section, choose the file format and delivery options:
    • Export file format: Select .xlsx (spreadsheet) or .csv (plain text).
    • Export file to external server: Select a server configuration to automatically upload the report after generation. See Configure data export.
    • Get report download link by email: Send a download link to your account email address, and optionally add additional recipients.
    • Direct download: Generate a shareable link so anyone with the link can download the report. The link is valid until the report expires.
  9. Select Create report.
IMPORTANTThe Direct download option is not enabled by default and is available only on request. Contact Support to enable it.

Report generation runs in the background. The report status changes to Ready when generation is complete. If you configured email delivery in the Export options section, recipients receive a download link by email.

Find your report in the Signals savings list. Reports move through Pending → Ready → Expired (72 hours after generation). Ready reports show a Download button. To access additional actions, select the three-dot menu next to a report:

  • View details: Report type, date range, configuration, and export details
  • Duplicate: Creates a new report with the same configuration. Use this to re-run an expired or failed report, or create a variation without rebuilding settings.
  • Delete: Permanently deletes the report

To preview a Ready report in the web interface, select its name. The preview page shows the report data. From there, select View details or Download report, or open the three-dot menu for View details, Duplicate, and Delete.

For full status definitions and what to do when a report fails or expires, see Manage reports.

NOTEIf you cannot access Signals reports, verify that Signals fraud protection is enabled on your account or an account in your hierarchy. Also verify that you have the Analyze Manager role, plus the Finance Manager or Account Admin role. If blocked traffic appears unexpectedly high, add the Country and Network dimensions to see where fraud activity is concentrated. Then contact your account manager to discuss threshold configuration. If current month totals look incomplete, this is expected: data finalizes on the 5th of the following month. For Failed, Stopped, or Expired reports, see Manage reports.
