In life there are only a couple of opportunities to ask those really important questions about your future. There are even fewer clear answers along the way. For some these questions are taboo, for others a highly recommended and often brought up topic. In the end, it really doesn't matter which group you belong to, what matters is that you're aware of the questions and that you are actively seeking answers.
When you do end up finding them, they are sometimes painful and time consuming, but they build you as an individual, as well as professionally.
Think about this. What truly motivates or inspires you?
Is it a fulfilling social life? Strong carrier path? Both? Something else? The truth is: it really doesn't matter. Once found, you become unstoppable. Love what you do, do what you love. Only then will people, colleagues, friends, start recognising your potential, acknowledge your skills, and listen to your ideas.
Want to be that person? Start with yourself, and start now. Only you can make yourself happy and become the person you wish to be. Be the kind of person people want to be around, learn from, laugh with, cry with, and take on new challenges. Every journey starts by making that first step. Take it, and you won’t regret it.
Why do this and what does all of it have to do with business? Well, times are changing. Big companies have emerged, they are taking on shape, they are growing, and raising the levels of competition in the process.
A company where people really want to work has one of the most powerful competitive advantages in the game: the ability to hire and field the best team.
So, what exactly makes a company great? What makes it so desirable?
For us, it's the people that work there. Listen, nobody wants to settle for mediocrity anymore. To be the best, you want and deserve to learn from the best - this is how a great company should function.
Motivation and inspiration are key factors for both personal and team success. Often, they come from different sources and like all of the major answers, finding these sources is tricky. Sometimes, they are in plain sight and in others miles away. Sometimes you find them alone, sometimes it takes other people to get the best out of you.
How to recognise them? Are they really that crucial? Yes, they are.
Your education can open doors, but the rest is up to you. Results, your position, it all depends on how hard you and your team works, which ultimately produces team results. To motivate your team to bite even harder, to inspire the people you work with to take on new challenges, to be a part of such team, should be the core definition of personal motivation and inspiration.
Still, some people usually mistake motivation for inspiration.
Inspiration is something that you feel on the inside, while motivation is something from the outside that compels you to take action.
There's only so much a person, an individual, can do. To help each other, to push each other, to learn from one another, to bond with each other, those are the real keys to success. Such teams prevail, succeed, and in the end, such teams build successful companies.
Now, imagine a whole bunch of people doing just that in one place. Imagine that energy. Imagine Infobip. That is who we are. That is what we do and this is exactly why we want you here. To actively seek those answers, together. (By Ognjen Ribicic, Software Engineer)
