Custom templates

Custom templates are templates that you create to meet specific business needs. You can create them from scratch or by saving an existing journey as a template. To edit, duplicate, or delete custom templates, see Manage templates. For ready-made options, see Predefined templates.


Custom templates page

The Custom templates page shows a list of all custom templates available in your account.

To access this page, go to the Infobip web interface > Automation Studio > Journeys > Templates > My Custom tab.

From this page, you can:
  • View a list of custom templates.
  • Search for a template: Use the Search box to search by template name or ID.
  • Filter by template tags. Select the Filter icon.
  • Sort templates. Select the Sort icon.
  • Create a template from scratch.
  • Edit, delete, or duplicate a template.
  • Create a journey from a template.
  • Manage template tags for one or more templates.

Each template card shows:

  • Message preview: A preview of the template content, or "No message text" if no content is configured.
  • Channels: The send channels used in the template (for example, SMS send, WhatsApp send).
  • Last modified: When the template was last updated.
  • Usage count: The number of journeys created from the template.
  • Tag count: The number of template tags applied.
  • Template ID: The unique identifier for the template.
  • Name: The template name.

Create a custom template from scratch [#custom-templates-create-from-scratch]

To create a custom template from scratch:

  1. On the Infobip web interface, go to Automation Studio > Journeys > Templates.
  2. Select Create Template.
  3. Select an entry point.
  4. Select an entry point and create the journey.
  5. Name the template.
  6. (Optional) Add template tags to the template.

The journey is automatically saved as a template and is listed on the My Custom tab.


Create a custom template from a saved journey [#custom-templates-create-from-journey]

To save a journey as a template:

  1. Open the journey in the journey editor.
  2. In the footer, select the three-dots menu.
  3. Select Save as template.

Create a journey from a custom template [#custom-templates-create-journey]

To create a journey from a custom template:

  1. On the Infobip web interface, go to Automation Studio > Journeys > Templates.
  2. Select the Templates tab > My Custom.
  3. Find the required template.
  4. Select Use.

A new journey is created and is listed on the Journeys tab.

NOTE

If the template contains template tags, these are not added to the journey.
