Caller Name Delivery (CNAM)
Calling Name Delivery Service is available for Infobip USA voice numbers and applies only to voice traffic in the United States. You can use CNAM in two ways:
- CNAM Storage: For outbound calls.
- CNAM Delivery: For inbound calls.
For this feature to work properly, the recipient's phone and network must support the display of CNAM information (Caller ID with Name display). Some carriers may charge extra for enabling this service or include it in specific plans.
CNAM Storage
Use CNAM Storage to associate a calling name with an Infobip voice number. This name identifies your business to recipients on outbound calls.
When you register a calling name, the name is stored in CNAM databases and displayed on the recipient's device during an incoming call, provided their carrier and device support CNAM.
CNAM Delivery
Use CNAM Delivery to retrieve the caller identification when end users call in on an Infobip voice number. This feature has an additional charge.
CNAM Delivery is applicable for:
- Calls API: The resolved CNAM is sent in a
callReceivedevent in theresolvedCnamfield. - Inbound calls forwarded to SIP trunk through Call routing: CNAM is sent in the
Fromheader (for example:CNAM <sip:[email protected]:5060>).
Configure CNAM
