Analytics
Use the dashboard in the web interface to monitor your SIMs’ usage, statuses, and locations, or use the Analyze module to set up reports for export.
The Dashboard
The main dashboard is the first page you will land on when navigating to the Things module, and is the quickest way to get an overview of your SIM inventory. By default, all SIMs and all locations are selected, you can modify this view using the filters at the top right in the dashboard.
Location filters are by country, and SIM filters allow you to individually select every SIM you have ordered, regardless of status. They are identified by ICCID number.
The dashboard is made up of three main sections: Highlights, Inventory, and Locations.
Highlights show you all the figures around data usage and are updated every 15 minutes, so as to give you a real-time figure. Be aware of which filters you have selected, as this is reflected in reports.
Inventory is mainly used to see SIM card statuses. The main chart displays how many SIMs are active overall (filter selection dependent).
Use Locations to visibly locate in the world map where your SIMs in your IoT devices are in real-time.
Use the Alerts tab to check on your latest SIM-specific alerts depending on which individual alerts you have enabled.
Export Data
Using the Analyze module, you can quickly generate your own reports for your SIMs setting some basic parameters. To do so, navigate to Analyze > Reports > Create Report > Things.
In Report Content, select the data type you wish to generate a report for.
- SMS reports are to track all SMS communications sent from your SIMs, including send times, size, and many more parameters.
- Data Usage reports simply report on the amount of data used per SIM, as in the Dashboard.
- SIMs reports are to track all SIM related costs per SIM, including monthly and one time charges, and shipping costs
You can set up reports to be generated according to a custom frequency. Use the Recurring Report option to do so, then set your required time parameters. Every time a new report is generated, it will be available for export in the reports list. Or you will receive the report download link via email if you have added recipients.
Reports can be exported to an XLSX file (spreadsheet), or in CSV format (plain text). You can also use the option to generate a direct download link. Download links are available until reports expire (after 3 days).
Alert History
You can keep an eye on all your alert history in the Alerts dashboard, where you can then take the appropriate action for your SIMs. The dashboard offers a consolidated view and are sorted by most recent.
