Manage Tasks
You can add, modify, and remove tasks when the assistant is active.
Task library
The task library shows the list of tasks in Experiences. You can view the description and status of tasks and add tasks to your assistant.
View task library
You can customize and use only available tasks.
To view a list of tasks that are present in Experiences, do the following:
- In the Tasks section, select Add task.

In the list of tasks, unavailable tasks are marked as Coming soon. All other tasks are available to add to the assistant.
Set alert for unavailable tasks
In the task library, if a task is marked as Coming soon, you can get a notification when the task is available.
To enable notification for a specific task, do the following:
Task Status
Status | Description |
None | The task is available to add to the assistant. |
Enabled | The task has been added to the assistant and is included when the assistant runs. The task can be executed when you use the simulator, when you test the assistant on your device, and when end users access your assistant |
Disabled | The task has been added to the assistant but is excluded when the assistant runs. The task cannot be executed when you use the simulator, when you test the assistant on your device, and when end users access your assistant. |
Coming soon | The task is not available to add to the assistant. |
Add a task
- In the Overview page > Tasks section, select Add task.
- Select the required task. You can select only available tasks. Tasks that are marked Coming soon are unavailable.
- Select Add.
- Configure the task.
Configure a task
To configure a task, refer to the following sections as required.
AI support
This is a default task that is added to your assistant. Use this task to answer questions from end users. This task is configured and added to the assistant as part of the process of creating an assistant.
You cannot remove this task from the assistant or disable the task.
When an end user sends a question to your assistant, it uses the following information to generate the response.
- End user's question
- Content source
- Assistant settings
Remove a task
Use this option to remove a specific task from the assistant. You cannot remove the AI support task.
- In the Overview page > Tasks section, select the three dots against the task that you want to remove.
- Select Remove task.
- In the confirmation screen, select Delete.
Important
You cannot recover a task that you have removed. If you remove a task by mistake, you need to add the task again and configure it.
Disable a task
Exclude a specific task so that the assistant does not execute it. The assistant executes other enabled tasks.
The task is excluded when you use the simulator in Experiences, when you test the assistant on your device, and when end users access your assistant.
- Disabling the task does not remove it from the assistant.
- You cannot disable the AI support task.
Follow one of these ways:
Disable from the assistant overview page
- In the Overview page > Tasks section, select the three dots against the task that you want to disable.
- Select Disable.
- In the confirmation screen, select Disable.
Disable from the task page
Select Enabled.
Enable a task
When you enable a task, it is included when you use the simulator in Experiences, when you test the assistant on your device, and when end users access your assistant.
To enable a task, follow one of these ways:
Enable from the assistant overview page
- In the Overview page > Tasks section, select the three dots against the task that you want to enable.
- Select Enable.
- In the confirmation screen, select Enable.
