What is carrier billing?
Carrier billing is a type of mobile payment where the purchase amount is charged to the mobile phone bill or deducted from the prepaid balance.
Typically, direct billing is used for micropayments for digital and virtual goods but can also be used for other types of transactions – such as public transport tickets or for city parking.
This type of mobile payment is not intended for the payment of physical goods. The mobile operator of the user wishing to make a DMB payment needs to support the technology in order for the payment to be made.
