For example, call centers seek to automatically optimize routing and costs by checking number type before establishing a phone call or sending an SMS to cut costs.
What happens to SIM after porting?
After number porting, your old SIM card will stop working, and soon your new SIM card will start working. To check if your old number works, put your new SIM card into your phone and have someone call you.
