What pops into your head when you think of AI?
Be honest, you probably think about all the lines of code you don’t have to write and the time you’ve saved, right?
Now, you can also apply this to create WhatsApp Flows with Infobip’s AI Agent in a matter of seconds, not days.
But let’s take a step back: why should you care about WhatsApp Flows in the first place?
What are WhatsApp Flows?
Imagine this scenario: you’re trying to sign up for a special offer from your favorite online store. Before WhatsApp Flows, you’d be stuck in a long back-and-forth: What’s your name?, Can I get your email?, And your phone number? – you know the drill.
By the time you’ve answered all the questions, it feels like you’ve exchanged 20 messages and start wondering if you’ll ever actually get that discount.
Enter WhatsApp Flows.
The business sends you a simple button with a clear call-to-action. A neat little form pops up right in WhatsApp, where you can quickly fill in your details – name, email, phone number, all in one go. Once you’re done, you hit submit and voila, it’s all wrapped up in seconds.
It works similarly to a Google Form, but it’s integrated natively into the chat experience, making it faster and more efficient.
The two faces of WhatsApp Flows – Simple and Dynamic
WhatsApp Flows come in two types: Simple Flows and Dynamic Flows.
- Simple Flows are like mini Google Forms inside WhatsApp. They let users quickly fill out and submit info – perfect for things like lead forms, surveys, or contact details. No fancy integrations, just fast and easy data collection.
- On the other hand, Dynamic Flows are far more powerful. They connect in real time to backend systems, so when you book an appointment, for example, it checks availability and shows available time slots, all within the chat. Perfect for complex tasks like bookings, recommendations, or customer support.
What’s the catch with Dynamic Flows? They take a lot of effort and require someone with special know-how to handle – and it can take weeks of work.
An idea that started in my room has now become a real product at Infobip.
At Infobip, we move fast, embrace AI early, and turn ideas into impactful solutions. With AI-powered agents, we’re enabling brands to build static WhatsApp Flows in less than a day and reduce development time for dynamic flows from months to just days or weeks. The result? More engaging conversations and fewer customer drop-offs.
As a leading CPaaS provider, we’re proud to be shaping the future of customer engagement – on WhatsApp and beyond.

Apollo’s Early Test of WhatsApp Flows with Infobip
“When Meta first launched WhatsApp Flows, they selected a few Business Solution Partners and Infobip was one of those”, explains Mani Prakash Mosuganti.
Infobip then nominated some clients for closed testing, and Apollo Hospitals, one of India’s largest hospital chains, was one of the first to test WhatsApp Flows.
“Apollo had a use case where they wanted to enable users to book lab tests at home via WhatsApp”, says Prakash:
In India, it’s common to book services like blood tests at home, where a lab technician visits your location, collects the sample, and sends results through WhatsApp within a few hours or a few days. This service was already available through their application and website, but Apollo wanted to bring this service to WhatsApp for easier accessibility.
Let’s see WhatsApp Flows in action
The process starts when a user sends a simple Hi to Apollo on WhatsApp.
They’re then presented with a menu of options, including the ability to book a lab test. This is where WhatsApp Flows really shine.
Mosuganti explains how the process works:
After the user expresses interest by saying they want to book a lab test, a dynamic WhatsApp Flow is triggered. The flow connects to Apollo’s backend system and it automatically pre-fills the user’s existing details like name and address based on their profile, streamlining the process.
The user is prompted to enter the name of the test they wish to book. As they type, the flow acts like a mini Google search, fetching the relevant test options based on the user’s input and showing a list of available tests. The system retrieves the available tests linked to the keyword the user entered, thanks to a connection to Apollo’s database, making the process seamless and fast.
In this case, building WhatsApp Flows was split into two main parts: frontend development (designing and building the user-facing screens) and backend integration (connecting the flows with APIs to fetch real-time data like lab test and doctor appointment availability).
The entire process took 60 days.
How AI Agent cuts development time – from days to minutes
Given these challenges, Mani Prakash and his team realized they needed to fast-track the flow development process. That’s when they turned to AI for help and built AI Agent for WhatsApp Flows.
For example, if I want to create a flow like “Book a Doctor’s Appointment”, I can simply type the requirements, and the AI will automatically generate the entire JSON code needed for the flow. What would previously take 2 hours of manual work is now completed in a matter of seconds.
With AI, building WhatsApp Flows now takes minutes instead of days, making it easier to launch both simple and complex flows faster and keep up with customer needs.
Try our AI Agent for WhatsApp Flows
Even without the help with AI, businesses are actively using WhatsApp Flows – nearly 3 million Flow messages have already been exchanged through Infobip between businesses and their end users.
But now, with this AI magic, businesses no longer need to build flows piece by piece or dive into complex API details – and cut days of work into minutes, with no expertise required.
