About NumHub and Infobip’s History of Collaboration

The relationship between NumHub and Infobip is rooted in many years of mutual trust and shared innovation. The companies began a working relationship prior to 2021 with NumHub’s unique Enterprise business RespOrg enabled referrals. This made it possible for NumHub to provide Fortune 5 to Fortune 500 businesses with the right to use of their toll-free numbers, enabling carrier redundancy in the event of an outage.

In 2021, the relationship expanded with Infobip’s adoption of NumHub’s simplified local number portability platform, PortControl. In 2024, Infobip adopted the full suite of PortControl’s capabilities to encompass all aspects of number portability, including number lookup, touchless pre-orders, and port-outs.

About Branded Calling ID™

Branded Calling ID (BCID) is an industry-adopted, CTIA-governed framework designed to restore trust in phone calls by enabling verified businesses to display their brand name, logo, call reason, and number directly on consumer devices.

BCID integrates Rich Call Data (RCD) and Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) FCC-mandated STIR/SHAKEN authentication, ensuring that only legitimate, authenticated and vetted businesses can display branded caller ID information. By leveraging cryptographic signatures and industry-standard governance, BCID protects businesses from spoofing, enhances call answer rates, and ensures consumers can confidently identify and engage with trusted brands.

Unlike traditional branded calling models that operate under vendor-controlled ecosystems, BCID is an open, standardized solution built to serve the entire telecom industry including enterprises, CSPs, OSPs, UCaaS/CCaaS providers, and consumers.

Infobip helps HESA double Graduate Outcomes conversion rates for mobile communications

HESA enhances its collaboration with Infobip to boost survey conversion rates and improve engagement using RCS messaging

London, UK, 8 July 2025 – Global cloud communications platform Infobip has enhanced its partnership with HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency), part of Jisc, to boost responses to its Graduate Outcomes survey, the UK’s largest annual social survey. By implementing a Rich Communication Service (RCS) and mobile-first approach, Infobip has helped increase the agency’s mobile survey conversion rates compared to SMS.

HESA, the UK agency for the collection and analysis of higher education data, delivers the Graduate Outcomes survey which surveys over 900,000 recent graduates annually. It helps improve university experiences for future students by providing a voice for graduates and postgraduates. To ensure UK higher education best reflects the actual needs of students, the survey needs to collect the experiences of as many graduates as possible.

With survey fatigue and declining engagement an ongoing challenge, HESA is testing a number of different initiatives to boost online survey responses. With circa. 70% of online responses completed on mobile, HESA needed to refresh its omnichannel approach and provide communication channels that graduates and postgraduates use and trust.

RCS messaging enables organisations to increase their brand reputation and awareness. With RCS, HESA could add its survey logo and a link to its website. As the message design is more modern, it helps enhance reputation and verifies the message is genuine.

Infobip has implemented a mobile and RCS-first approach for HESA, making the Graduate Outcomes survey available on this richer, more engaging channel across Android and Apple platforms; RCS survey conversion rates are double that of SMS.

The Graduate Outcomes survey is a critical tool to allow recent graduates to share their experiences of UK higher education. To provide the rich, high-quality data that the sector needs, we need all graduates to complete the survey when they are invited. It’s early days but the conversion rates on RCS compared to SMS look very encouraging.”

Dr Gosia Turner

Head of Surveys at Jisc

By integrating RCS capabilities powered by Infobip into the Graduate Outcomes survey, HESA has enhanced respondent experiences while helping boost completion rates. Having worked with HESA since 2018, this latest partnership demonstrates how we continue to innovate for our customers to help them achieve their objectives.”

Everyone talks CX. Almost no one delivers.

Harvard Business Review Analytic Services study in association with Infobip reveals the AI gap undermining customer experience

Vodnjan, Croatia, July 7, 2025 – Global cloud communications platform Infobip has today released findings from a new study conducted by Harvard Business Review Analytic Services (HBR-AS) revealing a sharp disconnect in customer experience (CX): while 93% of those surveyed from the HBR audience recognize the high importance of creating positive conversational experiences, only 36% believe their organization is highly effective at it. Even more striking, just 11% report they’re highly effective using AI to deliver human-like conversations.

The untapped potential of AI in customer engagement

The report, “Conversational Experiences: The Untapped Potential of AI in Customer Engagement” highlights a gap between organizations’ ambitions and execution: while many use SMS, messaging apps, email and chatbots at key points, most still fail to deliver the seamless, intuitive conversations customers expect.

While everyone talks CX, almost no one delivers. When brands can’t deliver meaningful, human-like conversations, they don’t just lose efficiency – they lose trust. It’s time to rethink what customer experience really means in the AI era.”

Ben Lewis

VP Marketing and Growth at Infobip

Why are so many organizations falling short?

The study identifies critical roadblocks standing between brands and the modern customer: poor visibility of activity across all platforms (48%), difficulty capturing customer data across all stages of the customer journey (46%) and challenges integrating AI-powered features into communication platforms (44%). Nearly half cite a lack of best practices around using communication platforms (49%) and insufficient investment in advanced conversational technology (48%).

Improving conversational CX with automation, AI and integration

Encouragingly, companies recognize the need to close the gap. Over the next 12 months, when it comes to improving conversational experiences, 50% are prioritizing making processes more automated, 41% are prioritizing enhancing the use of AI in conversations, and 39% are prioritizing integration of communication platforms.

Infobip is leading that charge, powering customer interactions that are automated, personalized and fully human at scale.

This isn’t about tools – it’s about trust. Every message, chatbot and notification should feel like it understands you. That’s what we help brands deliver – across every channel, at any scale.”

Retailers and eCommerce firms embrace conversational retail

Infobip’s Messaging Trends Report highlights how retailers and eCommerce firms are using new channels to engage customers and secure sales

Vodnjan, Croatia, 24 June 2025 – Global cloud communications platform Infobip has released its latest Messaging Trends Report, which reveals that conversational retail is growing fast. Brands use chatbots and voice assistants to make shopping quicker and more personalized.

Infobip analyzed more than 530 billion interactions on its platform between businesses and consumers in 2024 to identify the latest global business messaging trends. The data shows a 33% increase in customer interactions in retail in 2024. Interactions in Asia are growing most quickly, up 169%, while interactions with European retailers are up 92%.

Retailers worldwide embrace several channels to meet their consumers on the channels they use with family and friends, and grow loyalty and sales. Some 38% of all interactions in the retail sector were on SMS, while email accounted for 35% of all traffic. Mobile app messaging interactions accounted for 15%, while WhatsApp interactions now account for 11% of all traffic in the retail sector, demonstrating the growing importance of highly engaging, two-way customer interactions.

Consumers no longer want one-way interactions with their favorite retailers. They want to engage in two-way conversations and experiences. As a result, retailers and eCommerce firms globally are adopting conversational retail where consumers can complete an entire end-to-end transaction without leaving the chat window on their phone.”

Ivan Ostojić

Chief Business Officer at Infobip

Infobip research also shows how sales seasons are going online and globally. With 55% of online shoppers completing their purchases on their mobile device, Infobip reveals how many brands with a physical and online presence now focus more on online sales during popular promotion days like Black Friday. Online sales make supply chains more efficient and help avoid overcrowding in stores.

In addition, Infobip’s research shows an eastward and westward migration of retail trends. Concepts like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which started in the United States, are gaining popularity in Asia Pacific, where the firm recorded 250% more interactions in Australia on Black Friday in 2024, 78% more interactions in the Philippines, and 47% more interactions in China compared to 2023.

At the same time, major retail brands from the East, like Temu, are grabbing market share in Western countries, bringing with them retail practices like app-purchase coupons and gamification that are common in the East.

Conversational banking gains acceptance among financial services firms

Infobip’s Messaging Trends Report highlights how conversational banking is gaining acceptance across all age groups

Vodnjan, Croatia, 24 June 2025 – Global cloud communications platform Infobip has released its latest Messaging Trends Report, which reveals how conversational banking is gaining acceptance.

For customers used to extensive login processes and security questions on a website, asking a chatbot to check a balance or pay a bill seems unusual, which can create mistrust. This mistrust has often held back the growth of conversational banking beyond Gen Z. However, Infobip’s latest Messaging Trends report shows this is now changing, with banks and financial institutions responsible for significant traffic on Infobip’s Conversational AI Platform.

Banking customers are gaining a better understanding of how mobile phones and chat apps can improve the security of financial transactions by leaning on the native security features of every smartphone and the built-in encryption of chat apps like WhatsApp.”

Ivan Ostojić

Chief Business Officer at Infobip

Infobip analyzed more than 530 billion interactions on its platform between businesses and consumers in 2024 to identify the latest global business messaging trends and helps its customers improve conversations experiences. The data shows a 70% increase in interactions between consumers and financial services organizations in North America in 2024. Meanwhile, interactions in the Middle East are up 77%, and interactions in Europe are up 28%.

Financial services firms employ several conversational channels to provide greater convenience to their consumers. Some 71% of all traffic sent by financial institutions was SMS, while email accounted for 15% of all traffic. WhatsApp interactions accounted for 10%, demonstrating the growing importance of highly engaging, two-way customer interactions.

Conversational banking will continue to evolve and become more common in financial services, satisfying customers who prefer to communicate in their natural language. We believe it will be one of the key drivers for changing the banking landscape over the next five years.”

Chudi Ibemere

Head of E-Business at Zenith Bank

Infobip’s Messaging Trends report also reveals how banks and financial institutions are making significant progress in adopting chat apps for customer communication and leveraging AI to improve the customer experience, with such organizations responsible for a considerable amount of traffic on Infobip’s Conversational AI Platform.

Many firms are now rolling out sophisticated AI use cases. Analysis of the data from our platform shows that message volumes generated by AI are highest in the finance and insurance sectors. The data also shows that they are adopting the popular digital messaging channels in their region so that customers can communicate on the channels they feel most comfortable with.

Infobip First to Launch RCS Messaging Across All Four Major U.S. Telecom Carriers

As Rich Communication Services (RCS) becomes the next generation of text messaging, Infobip further establishes its brand presence and services in the U.S. by officially signing with major carriers

Chicago, IL – June 17, 2025 –  Global communications platform Infobip is the first to launch RCS messaging with the top four U.S. telecom carriers. Now, businesses using these four major carriers can transform the way they communicate with customers through interactive, engaging mobile content via RCS messaging, powered by Infobip.

Following the skyrocketing adoption of RCS, all major wireless carriers are rolling out support for the transformative messaging channel that sets a new standard for mobile messaging. RCS offers a more versatile and feature-rich experience than traditional, text-only SMS messaging. By operating over Wi-Fi and mobile data, RCS offers a plethora of benefits including high resolution images and video, enhanced group chat functions, interactive features that enable recipients to easily book appointments and more.

These capabilities amplify brands’ omnichannel marketing strategies by effectively keeping customers engaged. Through Infobip’s RCS availability across major U.S. carriers, U.S. brands can offer interactive features and branding opportunities, resulting in more personalized, engaging customer journeys and stronger customer relationships through dynamic, branded two-way conversations.

RCS offers marketers a whole new way for brands to communicate with consumers through mobile. We were thrilled to collaborate with Infobip and Dooney & Bourke to become the first marketing platform provider to launch an RCS marketing campaign in the United States. Together, we were able to demonstrate how the elevated creative experience that consumers expect from luxury fashion and beauty brands can be translated into mobile messaging, as well as the results that it delivers.”

Jamie Elden

CRO at Listrak

Infobip has since worked with Listrak, the retail industry’s leading cross-channel marketing platform, along with American heritage handbag and fine leather goods brand, Dooney & Bourke, to launch “12 Days of Dooney”; the first RCS marketing campaign in the United States. Launched as a test campaign during the 2024 holiday season, Infobip, Listrak, and Dooney & Bourke collaborated to target subscribers via campaign messages that focused on holiday shopping promotions. As a result of the integration, RCS more than doubled the revenue per send compared to SMS/ MMS campaigns.

As evident by our most recent Messaging Trend Report, which found a 500% increase in RCS usage year-on-year, both telecoms and businesses are seeking out better ways to leverage this evolutionary messaging channel. Now that Infobip’s RCS Business Messaging is available across the biggest telco providers in the U.S., leading brands can effectively engage and communicate with targeted customers throughout the world’s largest economy.”

According to him, the rise of artificial intelligence capable of writing code represents a moment comparable to Gutenberg’s printing press – a technology that once made previously exclusive knowledge accessible to everyone.

Just as literacy transformed society, software literacy will experience explosive growth because artificial intelligence removes technical barriers. From a world where only a few people could develop software, we are moving toward a world where almost anyone will be able to do it.”

Matt Biilmann Christensen

Co-founder and CEO, Netlify

Joining him on the Shift stage is Medhat Dawoud, a senior software engineer at Miro – a global platform for online collaboration and visual project management used by more than 60 million users worldwide.

The third speaker is Debbie O’Brien, a long-time manager at Microsoft specializing in developer tools. O’Brien, who is also returning to Shift, is well known in the developer community for her work on the Playwright testing framework and other tools that significantly impact developers’ daily work.

The audience asked for them – they are coming back

In addition to new content and speakers, Shift will once again host some of the most recognizable names who won over audiences at previous editions. Returning to the stage are Kristijan “Kitze” Ristovski, founder of Sizzy and for years the most beloved speaker among the Shift audience; Vitaly Friedman, editor-in-chief of Smashing Magazine and a prominent figure in the global front-end community; and Harry Roberts, an internationally recognized web performance expert and creator of CSS Wizardry.

Startup program, EXPO zone, and after-parties

Special attention will once again be drawn to the Startup Tribe stage, featuring panels with investors and pitching competitions for young tech companies. In addition, the EXPO hall will showcase the latest solutions from leading tech companies, while numerous side events, after-parties, and networking activities promise an unforgettable experience for all participants both on and off the stage.

Infobip research reveals surge in UK brands’ adoption of RCS

Infobip’s Messaging Trends Report highlights the impact of Apple’s RCS support and the growing dominance of conversational messaging in the UK

London, 17 June 2025 – Global cloud communications platform Infobip has released its latest Messaging Trends Report, which reveals that the adoption of Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging has skyrocketed, transforming the customer experience landscape.

Infobip analysed more than 530 billion interactions on its platform between businesses and consumers in 2024 to identify the latest business messaging trends. The data suggests Apple’s support for RCS, following its iOS 18 update in late 2024, contributed to a 65% increase in UK RCS traffic.

UK businesses have embraced the channel for highly engaging, two-way customer interactions. Infobip’s data shows that the increase in RCS usage is part of increasingly omnichannel approaches, with UK brands leveraging it alongside SMS, Voice & Video and WhatsApp for a seamless customer journey.

RCS is taking off because it works. The branded and verified experience reduces hesitation, while rich visuals capture attention and drive engagement. In A/B tests, RCS rich cards delivered up to 70% higher conversion rates than MMS. More significantly, RCS has driven conversion rates two to three times higher, and sometimes even ten times higher, than standard marketing channels.”

James Stokes

Head of Enterprise, UK & Nordics at Infobip

The UK is the largest European market utilising the Infobip platform, growing by almost a third (31.7%) from 2023 to 2024. Companies in the wholesale communications services sector represent the largest segment, followed by telecoms and technology & software companies.

The Messaging Trends Report has revealed that as UK brands refine their customer engagement strategies, WhatsApp has emerged as a significant channel for conversational marketing, where the channel’s growth has surpassed the growth of SMS and email. Infobip recorded a 392% increase in marketing messages sent over WhatsApp in the UK, driven by new features enabling seamless purchases within a single chat. This was accompanied by a 12x increase in conversational marketing messages, with majority being over WhatsApp. The platform also saw significant growth in other chat apps like Telegram, Line, and Viber.

Globally, Infobip saw a 30% increase in the number of brands orchestrating conversational marketing interactions with their customers on its platform.

AI adoption has also increased, according to data from Infobip’s AI Hub. AI-powered chatbots and automation are being widely adopted, particularly in finance and insurance, where security and compliance are paramount. Businesses increasingly use AI for personalized interactions, fraud prevention, and real-time customer support.

With RCS adoption accelerating and AI transforming customer interactions, 2025 is set to be a pivotal year for conversational messaging.”
