Zagreb, 6 October 2025. – Last week, Zagreb became a hub of the European innovation scene. From 1 to 3 October, the Infobip Campus hosted Innovation Prototyping Labs 2025, a three-day event that brought together more than one hundred researchers and industry leaders from across Europe. The event was organised by the Industry Commons Foundation under the leadership of Michela Magaš, European Woman Innovator of the Year (2017). Michela Magaš, born in Zagreb and raised in Rijeka, is a globally recognised pioneer in the field of design and innovation and was recently honoured by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Stockholm.

The aim of the gathering was the collaborative creation and testing of innovations that bring concrete changes to science, industry, and society. Participants developed new prototypes and discussed the interoperability of knowledge bases, the ethical challenges of artificial intelligence, and sustainable models for future research infrastructures. Research and technical teams from across Europe took part in the work, including the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, France), Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR, Italy), the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, Switzerland), OPERAS Research Infrastructure (Belgium), the Max Weber Stiftung (Germany), and others, creating a unique opportunity for high-level multidisciplinary collaboration.

The Innovation Prototyping Lab focuses on testing how artificial intelligence and knowledge graphs can be responsibly used to support discovery across different disciplines. By bringing researchers and industry together in one place, we are building practical examples of how European collaboration can deliver trusted tools for the future of science and innovation. Croatian engineering expertise has always been a source of inspiration to me, and I am proud to see it at the centre of European innovation.”

Michela Magaš

This event confirmed that Croatia can play a key role in the European innovation agenda through active participation in important international partnerships and projects that set new standards in research and development. Over half of shoppers say customer experience is too generic

Data from Retail Economics and Infobip reveals personalisation is the key to attracting and retaining customers

London, UK, 30 September 2025 – Research by global cloud communications platform Infobip and economic research consultancy Retail Economics, shows personalisation is now essential for retailers. The research, led by retail expert Richard Lim, reveals how strategically crafted, individual experiences are not just “nice to have,” but the foundation for overcoming friction in the customer journey and building lasting loyalty.

The study shows that more than 60% of customers find communications from retailers irrelevant, while 56% feel the customer experience is too generic. Retailers who double down on individual, customised interactions, stand to gain a significant advantage.

And this isn’t just about personalised marketing communications. The study reveals the importance of tailored communication throughout the customer journey.

Customers appreciate retailers recommending relevant products, but they also want a personalised approach through the purchase, fulfilment and returns stages. Clear communications via preferred channels when delays occur are vital to 82% of shoppers, while the availability and quality of customer support for delivery-related queries is important to 75%.

Retailers succeeding in attracting attention, building trust and increasing loyalty are focused on:

  1. Personalised Messaging – leveraging data driven customer communication, tailoring offers, tracking information, and support messages.
  2. Data Optimisation – consumers prefer brands that acknowledge their shopping habits and interests to facilitate a more convenient shopping experience.
  3. Seamless Experiences Across Channels – brands can reach new potential customers and increase loyalty by communicating over various channels.

Customers now expect personalised communications across the customer journey. If a retailer can recommend a product or service at the right time through the right channel, they expect the same tailored communications if they have a problem or need support. To attract and retain customers, retailers must up their personalisation game. Communications must be relevant and timely, delivered via preferred channels.”

The conference took place from September 14 to 16 at several locations across Zadar, including the Krešimir Ćosić Sports Center in Višnjik, a sports complex spanning 15,000 square meters.

The conference focused on topics such as software development, cybersecurity, engineering leadership, and startup culture, with special emphasis on artificial intelligence. As part of the rich program across six stages, more than 70 talks, panels, and workshops were held. Attendees were also drawn to attractions such as simulators and the displayed MoneyGram Haas F1 Team show car.

The growing number of speakers and attendees, the quality of the talks, and the networking opportunities that Infobip Shift provides show that this is not only the most important developer event in this part of Europe, but also a platform that sets standards for the developer community—always keeping pace with the topics shaping the technology industry. Over the past few years, the conference has expanded beyond borders: from Zadar it reached the United States, and this year it is expanding to Asia.”

Ivan Brezak Brkan

Developer Experience Director, Infobip

Top IT experts in one place

The conference program was highlighted by a keynote lecture from Matt Biilmann, co-founder and CEO of Netlify. He is one of the world’s leading advocates of the new concept of Agent Experience (AX), which enables collaboration between developers and AI agents in building software.

I believe that in the coming years software development will increasingly be oriented not only toward people but also toward AI agents. We are developing software for agents, and they are becoming real users and collaborators. AX will give us answers to questions about how to design products that agents want to use and can work with effectively. I believe this is one of the biggest changes in technology since the web was created, because the ability of agents to write software will itself radically change the way we build and use technology.”

Vodnjan, Croatia, 16 September 2025 – Global communications platform Infobip has received two new Network API certifications from the GSMA, as part of the CAMARA project. The SIM Swap and Number Verification certifications demonstrate Infobip’s commitment to advancing global standards for Network APIs through the GSMA Open Gateway initiative.

The certifications mark a significant milestone for Infobip and its telco partners worldwide. The certifications validate Infobip’s expertise and support mobile network operators (MNOs) in achieving their own certifications as part of GSMA’s global standardization efforts.

Achieving GSMA certifications for SIM Swap and Number Verification demonstrates our commitment to building secure, scalable solutions for operators worldwide. As a CPaaS enabler, Infobip is dedicated to helping telcos embrace new global standards and bring the benefits of Network APIs to real-world use cases. With its experience, partnerships, and developer-first approach, Infobip is helping telcos worldwide unlock new business opportunities and accelerate digital transformation.”

Real-world impact

Infobip has several successful partnerships launching CAMARA-compliant Network APIs under the GSMA Open Gateway initiative. For instance, Infobip, together with four major French mobile operators, demonstrated what network APIs combined with reach channels like RCS can do to combat fraud and improve digital trust and security in the banking industry. The company also helped all Brazilian operators implement and market Number Verification, SIM SWAP detection, KYC and device location APIs to help businesses and developers speed up verification, reduce the likelihood of errors, increase conversions and fight fraud.

At Shift Zadar, Infobip will co-host an Ideathon at Shift Zadar in Croatia, alongside GSMA, CAMARA, and Orange.

Developers will explore and build use cases with certified Network APIs, including SIM Swap, Number Verification, Device Location and Know Your Customer (KYC) Match. This initiative reinforces the relevance of showcasing the scalable use of Network APIs amongst developers, and GSMA is honored to join and be one of the main drivers of this key moment at the conference.”

Henry Calvert

Head of Networks at GSMA

Infobip is helping to drive innovation in the telco ecosystem through its adoption and implementation of Network APIs for MNOs. Orange is at the forefront of these developments. At Infobip’s Shift Zadar conference, we will demonstrate how such tools can better serve our customers and protect them from fraud while helping develop the telco ecosystem globally.”

Infobip surpasses 10 billion RCS messages

Apple’s RCS support sparks surge in conversational messaging

Vodnjan, Croatia, 9 September 2025 – Global communications platform Infobip has surpassed 10 billion Rich Communication Services (RCS) business messages, delivered to consumers on its platform, marking a significant leap toward richer, conversational messaging.

An image with a dark background. On the left, a large, rounded orange shape contains white text that reads: "We hit 10bn RCS messages." To the right, the Infobip logo (a circular target icon next to the word "infobip") is displayed in orange. Pink and white abstract shapes are scattered around the background.

This milestone highlights the explosive growth of RCS and the effect of Apple’s adoption of RCS in late 2024. Since the iOS 18 update, global RCS traffic on Infobip’s platform has increased fivefold, with North American message volume soaring by 1,400%.

Businesses worldwide have embraced RCS for engaging, two-way customer interactions. Infobip’s data reveals a 500% year-on-year growth in RCS usage, with brands leveraging it alongside SMS to deliver personalised customer experiences.

RCS offers the next generation of business messaging: secure, reliable, and interactive—letting brands connect with customers via text, images, videos, and files within their native SMS app. Enterprises can take consumers through the entire customer journey from the initial marketing touchpoint to purchase and support.

HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency), part of Jisc, used RCS powered by Infobip boosting responses to its Graduate Outcomes survey, the UK’s largest annual social survey. With RCS, HESA provides richer, more engaging communications to graduates, enabling them to verify survey messages are genuine. As a result, RCS survey conversion rates are double that of SMS.

RCS enables us to provide rich, engaging and trusted messages to graduates which has helped encourage them to complete the survey when they are invited. With improved completion rates compared to SMS, we can deliver the high-quality data the sector needs to make informed decisions about the experiences of recent graduates.”

Dr Gosia Turner

Head of Surveys at Jisc

We’re witnessing record adoption as RCS becomes the channel of choice for businesses aiming to offer trusted, personalised messaging. Infobip is proud to lead this transformation, and we expect RCS growth to accelerate as more consumers and brands embrace these capabilities.”

Craig Selby

RCS Business Unit Director at Infobip

In the US, Infobip was the first to launch RCS messaging with all major telecom carriers. This breakthrough empowers US brands to create more personalised, engaging customer journeys, resulting in stronger relationships and increased revenue per message. Infobip is recognised as RCS Business Messaging Leader by Juniper Research and continues to set the standard for conversational messaging innovation.
