New offices in Dubai and Sydney
LONDON, UK, 04 June 2012 – Infobip, one of the world’s fastest-growing mobile services providers in the world, announced today it is opening two new regional offices in Dubai (UAE) and Sydney (Australia). Infobip already has major regional offices in Moscow, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur and Buenos Aires, as well as other smaller sub-regional offices across the world.
Dubai and Sydney are global economic powerhouses and headquarters of many enterprises and mobile operators, Infobip’s primary clients. Infobip CEO Silvio Kutic says, “Both cities are logical locations for our regional offices and we’re excited now that we’ll be able to fully serve our existing clients, but also present our mobile solutions to new audiences”.
In addition to being one of the world leaders in bulk SMS, enterprise mobile services and network management systems for mobile operators, Infobip has recently launched its latest innovation, the Centili m-payments system. Centili is powered by direct mobile billing technology and specialised for digital and virtual goods purchases, allowing amounts to be charged directly to the user’s mobile account. Mr Kutic goes on to say, “The technologically savvy consumers in UAE and Australia will surely welcome another innovation available to them through this simple but effective m-payments system”.
Infobip’s Dubai and Sydney offices are already staffed by professionals with extensive experience in these respective markets and have already launched operations in their full extent.

GSMA IWG 16 Plenary Meeting post-event report
Last week’s meeting of the Interconnect Working Group of the GSMA has been universally described as very successful meeting regarding the agenda and new developments in interconnection between mobile operators. Held in Zagreb, Croatia, this meeting attracted over 60 telecoms professionals from mobile operators and service providers from around the globe.
Being the first ever GSMA meeting held in the Southeast Europe region, it has been an honour and a privilege for us to host it. It was really exciting to see colleagues from over a dozen countries and from the leading companies in the telecoms industry come together and we are happy that the meeting in Zagreb has been a success
We would like to take this opportunity and thank the GSMA for their cooperation in making us hosts and for the opportunity to make a joint presentation with T-Mobile Croatia on USSD. We feel that USSD is a topic that will gain more in importance as mobile operators increasingly look for new sources of revenue and we’re sure that our business model has much to offer.
Many thanks go out to the chair committee of IWG, with Elena Sacco from Telecom Italia as the Chair, Hajo Kiefer from Deutsche Telekom as Deputy Chair, and Jose Antonio Aranda from the GSMA as the IWG Director, as well as other GSMA executives who attended and participated in organising the event.
Meeting peers and networking with them are essential for moving the telecoms industry forward. It’s an exciting and challenging time in telecoms and new ideas emerge every day. Discussing, refining and making them feasible is what meetings such as this are all about and our executives are active participants in many GSMA working groups, making our contribution to the future of telecoms.
Infobip continues cooperation with Politecnico Milan
Back in 2011, Infobip was a sponsor of Politecnico university’s study of mobile marketing and services, because we believe in independent research and the objective results it yields. This time around, we’re sponsoring another survey from the Osservatori series of Politecnico di Milano’s School of Management, focusing on mobile internet, content and apps.
Just like the previous study, this one also offers an insight into marketing practices and consumer habits, and while our core business is messaging, we feel that there is also much to be learned from these data. Convergence of technologies is proving to be the right approach in mobile, where native and web apps for smartphones are complemented by a device-agnostic technology – SMS, and vice versa.
We’re happy about continuing the successful cooperation with Politecnico and we’re proud to be one of the sponsors of this study. Naturally, its presentation event scheduled for 11 June is a perfect opportunity to meet peers from the mobile services industry and also potential clients from the Milan region, which remains an economic powerhouse of both Italy and Europe, despite all the recent hardships.
If you’re attending, make sure to contact us in advance here for a meeting with executives from our Milan office. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

MWC: Greatest stage for telecoms
The MWC week is barely over and the ripples of excitement are still vibrating across the mobile industry. The Barcelona show is the world’s most glamorous stage to make any announcement, so what better place is there for us to show off some new services, ideas and plans for the future.
Just ahead of the MWC we announced our partnership with San Diego-based neXva, which will see us providing neXva with direct mobile billing capabilities for their white-labelled app store. This is a major step forward in the U.S. market, but the opportunities it opens up go much further.
On the road to Barcelona, our London-based exec Ivan Maksic spoke to several members of the media, promoting what we feel is the future of mobile micropayments – direct mobile billing.
SMS of course remains Infobip’s core business, but there’s another type of message we’re proud to present to the world – push notifications. In today’s app-centric mobile market, push notifications are crucial to keeping users – and consumers – engaged.
Built on our mobile expertise, push notifications blend perfectly with SMS messaging, USSD and m-payments to offer a complete, converged service. Reach, engage, monetise – those are the three key capabilities of Infobip, so what better message do we need?
Infobip sponsors Politecnico di Milano mobile survey
Osservatorio Mobile Marketing & Services is the annual survey of the mobile marketing and services sector conducted by the School of Management of Milan’s respected Politecnico university and Infobip is sponsoring the 2011 edition.
Independent research offers a balanced insight into the needs of the clients and the current and future market trends and sponsoring such a survey is a way to contribute to the industry. This analysis will bring us important information on the Italian market and also bring us increased visibility as we approach the Italian SMS market with greater focus than before.
We’re proud to be a sponsor of the 2011 edition and we’re looking forward to more cooperation with the Politecnico di Milano. For more information, visit the Osservatorio Mobile Marketing & Service web page.

Infobip’s USSD solution powers informatics study initiative
LONDON, UK, PULA, CROATIA, 12 October 2011 – Infobip, one of the world’s fastest growing messaging and network technology providers, today announced its support for a free USSD-based informatics study programme. Using Infobip’s USSD Centre and Infobip-provided connectivity to local mobile operators, this initiative provides a free learning service available to anyone with a mobile handset. Through a series of menus, the programme randomly lists key IT terms and concepts and gives a short definition understandable to the general public regardless of their previous knowledge.
This initiative is free for end-users thanks to Infobip providing the platform and connectivity at no charge. In the words of Infobip CEO Silvio Kutic, “We’ve always been a knowledge-based company and we feel that this is the least we could do to help spread the IT gospel. Who knows, maybe one of our future star developers is using the service right now?”
Created by the high school informatics professor from Pula Marino Jurinovic, the initiative has also been nominated for the “Surf and Learn” award for best online learning tool as part of the Webfestival 2011 of the Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNet).
