Helping teams, products, and a company grow: Eva Sedlan’s service-driven career story
Looking for a career at a global tech company where you can progress? Eva Sedlan’s story, from quality service to Business Unit Operations Director, proves Infobip makes it possible.

It’s rare to be part of striking and significant leaps forward in any industry. But when Apple switched on RCS Business Messaging in October 2024, Eva Sedlan knew she was about to play a central role in a B2C messaging revolution.
Earlier that year, Eva had been invited to direct the RCS Business Messaging team at Infobip—the world’s leading RCS Business Messaging provider. RCS (short for Rich Communication Services) is the modern-day successor to SMS messaging, supporting features such as video, company branding, carousels, buttons, and read receipts.
RCS had long been available to Android users only. Then in 2023, months before Eva made her move to the RCS team, Apple signalled it would make RCS available on IOS within a year.
Eva explains: “RCS Business Messaging was about to get its time in the spotlight, and I saw a great opportunity. Ever since the first announcement that Apple was going to support RCS, the demand has been huge and there is a lot of excitement about how it will benefit businesses and their customers.”
From Wall Street to the world of telecoms
Graduating from college in her native Croatia with a Master’s in Financial Management, Eva’s sights had originally been set on Wall Street—until the 2008 financial crisis capsized that plan. There were few jobs available to college graduates in Croatia at that time, so Eva accepted a role in administrative services at an oil and gas company. This wasn’t the direction she had envisaged her career would move in. But then a new opportunity presented itself with a fast-growing IT and telecommunications company…
My friend always told me Infobip is a great company and I should join,” she recalls. “I saw how my friend was progressing really well, and the business opportunities seemed exciting, so I decided to apply.”
Eva was invited to join Infobip’s academy, which offers candidates training on the company, its products, and the industry.
I was offered a position in the Quality-of-Service department, which helps make decisions and strategies on how to enter a market and which business opportunities we can support, the traffic or sales we can get, and how it would impact the price. I really enjoyed it. It matched my talents and skills

Before long, Eva was made a Quality-of-Service Manager—a role that would take her around the world. “I travelled to different regions to get to know how the customers, and the local telcos we partner with, operate. I travelled to places like the Middle East, Dubai, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Istanbul, South Africa, Vietnam, and India. I learned from face-to-face conversations what resonates in the market and what our customers actually need, so I truly understood the ecosystem and could suggest better strategies.”
New beginnings
After excelling in her Quality-of-Service role, Eva was appointed team leader of the Business Growth team with a remit to help colleagues in different markets adopt the standards and way of working she had become known for.
A few years later, Eva took an even more substantial career step when Infobip restructured its sales division to support four key customer revenue streams: enterprise, digital native, platforms, and wholesale, which Eva was invited to direct. She became responsible for forming teams that managed regional aggregators in eight locations.
After several years, the evolution of customer communications and rise in importance of a variety of digital channels necessitated another organizational restructure. Infobip adopted what’s known as an ‘unFIX’ organizational approach, forming specialized business units to manage different aspects of the company’s broadening offer.
I was offered a position in the RCS team. I found myself in this exciting position where I was able to connect everything I’d learned: telecoms, analytics, sales, and account management.

In Eva’s words: From first impressions to today
During her 11 years at Infobip, Eva has seen a scale-up grow into the global cloud communications leader. So, what, in her opinion, is the secret to Infobip’s success? “From the beginning, it was all about providing the best value for the customer,” she says. “I believe management has a great vision and sees three steps ahead. We’re always starting to do things in an agile way before they’re a huge hit in the market. What’s going to be a trend in three years is what we start doing now.”
As a result, Eva has gained an even deeper appreciation and admiration of the company she initially thought would simply be a “fun place to work”. She explains: “I started to understand there’s a great vision behind the company, and I really believe that Infobip is going to stay the leader of the communication industry, the number one provider. It’s a company built on trust and principles, always honoring its commitment to treat both customers and telcos as partners.”
Forging a career in tech: How others can follow in Eva’s footsteps
While Eva’s financial management degree prepared her for analytical and critical thinking, as well as financial projections, at Infobip she’s learned how to move between different departments and understand a complex industry.
She explains: “I understand it might sound like a challenge working for a platform in the middle of this ecosystem with so many different stakeholders. However, consistency with your values and the way you work with people and the feedback they give you, you just continue building that and applying that to the new setup. Your network grows, and having these relationships from previous teams always helps in the new position to bridge the gap, helping with cross-departmental cooperation and helping you grow even more.”
“At the beginning, when I was offered a new position, I sometimes said to myself, ‘Why me? I don’t think I have the skills or the requirements to do this well.’ However, I had a really good manager who helped me believe in myself, showed me good things that I had done, and encouraged me to trust myself, my instinct, my way of thinking.
Nowadays, people depend on me to lead, show them the strategy, and trust that I’m leading the product and them towards a good future. Building relationships with people and creating a team that works well together is the first thing to do in every new beginning. After that, adapting to new challenges and company requirements gets easier.

So, given Eva’s original plan was to move into finance, would she recommend a career in communications technology? “Absolutely,” she affirms. “It’s great to have an opportunity to be a contributor to the future of technology. If you step up, share your opinions and your ideas, you never know how they can grow and create impact.”
