Chicago, June 19, 2024 – Global communications platform Infobip is the first to offer A2P RCS Messaging for North America through a new Application Programming Interface (API). As pioneers in global omnichannel communications, Infobip is leading the market with another innovative solution.

An analysis of 473 billion interactions showed that consumers continue to look for a deeper connection with the brands they buy from, making more interactive messaging channels critical to a brand’s growth. Infobip’s RCS network gives mobile network operators access to the necessary software to allow businesses to reach customers through highly conversational interactions that will help set brands apart from their competition.

As RCS use continues to grow worldwide, North American businesses can now create customer experiences that SMS and MMS formats do not offer, enhancing engagement and driving conversions. Infobip’s API empowers businesses to reach customers in new ways using branded multimedia messages that can include powerful visuals and personalization on a reliable platform proven to improve customer satisfaction, loyalty, and conversion. This powerful API allows for easy integration with other cloud solutions, creating a single omnichannel platform to connect RCS to the tools and technology already in use.

“We expect RCS use to grow exponentially worldwide, and we are proud to be the first platform in North America to power an A2P solution that will allow our customers to give richer communication that consumers demand from the brands they interact with,” said Ethan Gustav, Group President for North America at Infobip.

Infobip’s platform allows customers to easily integrate RCS and test the platform with less engineering effort and lower costs, creating an omnichannel experience. Options include the Infobip RCS portal and editor to send messages through a user interface without integration. Additionally, Infobip customers can upgrade SMS and MMS messages to RCS using existing API integrations. Infobip’s platform seamlessly converts rich messaging channels into RCS, making the transition easier. Lastly, a full suite of RCS capabilities is already available to customers using the standalone RCS API and Messages API.

Zagreb, June 13, 2024 – Infobip Shift, the largest developer conference in Southern Europe, will be held in Zadar, Croatia from September 15 to 17 this year. For the first time, the popular tech event will span three days, gathering thousands from the global IT industry for the fourth consecutive year.

The conference kicks off on Sunday, September 15, with several smaller, diverse, and informal tech events across various locations in Zadar. The main event continues over the next two days at SC Višnjik.

“Infobip Shift strives to offer something new to attendees each year, enhancing the program, production, and additional content. Extending the conference to three days seemed like a logical step. It provides more opportunities for networking, which is a key reason many attend Shift. Equally important are the presentations from over 80 renowned speakers on six stages. Our goal is to continuously invest in the conference, increasing the value for our attendees. By expanding the program, we aim to elevate the quality and set new standards for tech events.”

Nikola Radišić

“This year’s topics at Infobip Shift include ubiquitous AI, increasingly critical cybersecurity, and perennial subjects like programming tools, front-end and back-end development, and cloud computing. We’ve shaped the program based on industry-relevant topics and feedback from last year’s attendees. While it is impossible to cater to everyone’s taste, we aim to ensure all attendees leave Shift with new knowledge and skills,” Radišić added.

Special Programs and Global Reach

A special program will be held in Infobip’s Startup Tribe hall, featuring booths of the most interesting domestic and international startups, panels, and talks vital for anyone starting or considering a startup. The pitching competition will spotlight startups, allowing them to present their products to a panel of experts and a range of global investors who may offer advice and possibly investment.

Conversational AI Takes Hold of Customer Engagements in APAC

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, May 22 – Global cloud communications platform Infobip has launched a new report featuring research insights by leading analyst firm IDC. The Infobip eBook titled “Driving Meaningful Customer Engagement with Conversational AI” highlights the growing importance of unified conversational solutions powered by conversational AI, especially within the Asia Pacific region.

Customer expectations have changed in today’s digital information era. They expect authenticity and more personalized attention from brands. Yet many organizations have little to no capabilities to deliver unique experiences. The IDC Future of Customer Experience Survey 2023 revealed that 37% of organizations in China do not have the capability to maintain customer context across the customer journey and channels. This figure is higher in Malaysia (40%), Indonesia (60%) and India (60%).

The same survey also reports that more brands are prioritizing interacting with their customers to establish superior customer experiences through increased allocations for corporate budgets towards improving customer experience (CX). Customer satisfaction and trust are the top investment areas for businesses in Malaysia (87%) and China (58%), while customer service and support are the main priorities for Indonesia (97%) and India (83%) businesses.

Everyday Conversations Powered by AI

The industry shift towards better CX is not unexpected. In the past, customers would have to wait for an available service agent to respond to their queries. Today, APAC businesses are empowering customers to find answers, request services, and complete transactions independently through the help of omnichannel communication solutions powered by conversational AI.

By providing instant replies to common customer queries via conversational AI chatbots, businesses can accelerate time to first resolution and make customers feel more appreciated.  Conversational AI chatbots’ functionalities now go beyond automatic simple replies – they provide a variety of useful features including automated data collection, promotional activities, and even purchase process guidance.

“Generative AI has reshaped conversational experiences. Having a single source of truth across interactions and channels powers context. This customer context allows for more relevant and intelligent conversations, and raises the bar for personalization,” said Lavanya Jindal, Senior Research Analyst, Asia/Pacific Customer Experience and Value Streams, IDC Asia/Pacific.

Messaging Apps on The Rise

Messaging apps have become increasingly popular across Asia, as customers prefer to communicate and purchase through digital channels. Recognizing this trend, brands in retail, digital commerce, financial services, and telcos are swiftly establishing their brand presence on popular platforms like WhatsApp and Viber, ensuring their services are readily available where their customers are most active. According to Infobip’s latest messaging trends report, there was a 509% increase in WhatsApp messages in Indonesia, a 226% increase in chat apps in Vietnam, and a 34% increase in Viber messages in the Philippines.

WhatsApp continues to dominate globally with more than 2.8 billion active users. But cultural preferences, local language, and integration have seen other messaging platforms gaining popularity in certain regions, such as LINE in Taiwan and Thailand, KakaoTalk in South Korea, and Zalo in Vietnam. In some countries, a messaging platform can claim market dominance due to its significant user bases, such as WeChat boasting 1.3 billion active users – almost all based in China.

“In today’s AI-driven landscape, CPaaS empowers businesses to easily orchestrate customer engagement across the entire journey, driving efficiency and maximizing value. It’s about doing more with less, reducing costs, and enhancing operational effectiveness, all while prioritizing long-term customer relationships”, said Velid Begovic, VP Revenue at Infobip.

APAC is Investing in Conversational AI

The IDC Business Value Engineering 2023 Survey revealed that about 39% of businesses in the APAC region consider conversational AI to be a critically important investment priority in the next two years. The primary business motivators for investing in AI-powered apps for improving CX are mainly to improve customer success, loyalty, and advocacy, as well as products/services that reflect customer’s needs.

Chatbots are one of the top 2 areas that APAC businesses are planning to integrate GenAI, according to IDC’s Future Enterprise Resiliency & Spending Survey Wave 1, January 2024. Conversational AI chatbots today are capable of quickly pulling contextual data relevant to customers and using it to offer not only delivery updates and product recommendations but also simple personalized greetings to make customers feel more welcome.

“Conversational AI has gained significant momentum in recent years. To truly excel, it must be properly integrated across the technology stack alongside the human elements throughout the customer journey. Infobip stands ready to support businesses on this transformative journey,” commented Begovic.

Spendgo enhances loyalty programs with Infobip’s omnichannel communications platform

Partnership with Infobip helped Spendgo innovate, build loyalty and unlock growth

Vodnjan, Croatia, 14 May 2024 – Global communications platform Infobip has partnered with Spendgo, the loyalty and identity platform, to embed omnichannel communications throughout its loyalty programs and boost client engagement and return on investment (ROI).

Through this partnership, Infobip’s real-time omnichannel communication capabilities has enabled Spendgo to drive higher participation and 92% redemption rates from their loyalty programs, as well as to access a 100% accurate attribution model for campaigns and insights to optimize performance. In addition, the seamless integration between Infobip and Spendgo platforms has led to a 40% reduction in the time and effort needed to launch loyalty campaigns.

Spendgo enables retail and restaurant businesses across North America to automate and manage loyalty programs. It oversees more than 100 loyalty programs with 25 million members. Spendgo works with businesses to identify the need for interacting and communicating with customers across the media of their choice and offer closed loop loyalty.

To move clients from the traditional coupon-based systems to more sophisticated digital options tailored to individuals, Spendgo partnered with Infobip to offer closed-loop loyalty programs, enabled by omnichannel communication capabilities. This ensures loyalty campaigns engage consumers on their preferred channel, connect every interaction in a single, integrated, omnichannel customer journey and consumers spend with the business that has offered the loyalty.

Spendgo’s clients can now offer personalised loyalty messages according to their customer’s individual profile across SMS, Email, Push Notifications, and MMS, ensuring a consistent and engaging experience. The loyalty platform integrated Infobip’s platform to enable its clients to create simple campaigns alongside Infobip’s customer engagement platform Moments so clients can build sophisticated and highly personalized offers based on real-time insights. Moreover, Infobip’s customer data platform, People, allowed Spendgo to create unified customer experience and richer profiles.

Ivan Matkovic, founder and CEO at Spendgo, said: “For us, it came down to omnichannel functionality and ease of use. We did not want to integrate with different vendors to obtain the channels needed. Instead, we researched the ecosystem and discovered Infobip satisfied our needs for multiple channels and our client needs for worldwide support for global requirements.”

Consumers are using more communications channels than ever before and want to use them interchangeably. While this is convenient for consumers, it poses a big challenge for businesses that must build omnichannel journeys and offer the right channels at the right time to deliver value. Our partnership with Spendgo yielded impressive results, driving significant customer engagement and loyalty for Spendgo’s retailers and restaurants. We have helped the firm to overcome its communication challenges and unlock new opportunities for growth and innovation in customer engagement and loyalty programs.”

Veselin Vukovic

VP of Strategic Partnerships at Infobip

Infobip has been named a Leader in the Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) market by analyst firm Gartner for its overall completeness of vision and ability to execute.

Infobip and Nokia partner to enable developers to build wider array of telco network powered applications faster

Partnering enables Infobip and Nokia to accelerate adoption and scale customer engagement use cases globally, building on network APIs and omnichannel communications

Vodnjan, Croatia, May 2, 2024 Infobip, the global cloud communications platform, and Nokia today announced a partnering agreement that will enable the global developer community to leverage both companies’ Application Programmable Interface (API) platforms in order to build a wider array of telco network powered applications faster for consumer, enterprise, and industrial customers.

Infobip’s market-leading cloud Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provides developers with APIs for integrating real-time omnichannel communications features such as SMS, voice, video, chat apps, and network APIs into their applications. Nokia’s Network as Code platform with developer portal offers developers APIs for tapping into 5G network capabilities like quality of service (QoS) on demand, device location precision and network slicing, as well as 4G capabilities.

Developers will be able to utilize all of those capabilities more easily, giving them complete coverage of Network and CPaaS APIs in the development of new use cases and the capacity to enhance application performance.

Nokia’s Network as Code platform with developer portal brings together networks from around the world, along with systems integrators and software developers, into a unified ecosystem; using technical standards produced through industry initiatives such as the GSMA Open Gateway initiative and the Linux Foundation CAMARA. Nokia and Infobip contribute to both initiatives.

Infobip’s customer engagement use cases include CAMARA-compliant Number Verify and SIM Swap APIs, which are already live. The firm is also working to bring further use cases to market including Device Location and Quality on Demand APIs, having now signed 12 API collaboration agreements. The CPaaS platform was recently named a finalist in the inaugural Global Mobile Awards GSMA Open Gateway Challenge for its anti-fraud intelligence collaboration.

The joint work between Infobip and Nokia will offer a simplified developer experience without the burden of navigating the complex underlying network technologies, allowing developers to integrate capabilities into their applications faster, relative to working separately with the two companies’ platforms.

Nokia has signed collaboration agreements with 11 network operators and ecosystem partners to use the Network as Code platform with developer portal since its launch in September 2023.

This agreement with Nokia further demonstrates how Infobip is helping telcos deliver new services and gain new revenue. We will continue to build and offer additional CAMARA-compliant APIs worldwide, working closely with our telco partners to expose customer experience friendly APIs to developers It is testament to our global market-leading CPaaS position, strong developer relations and history of strategic telco collaborations. These are essential to increase the potential for a successful collaboration and faster time to revenue.”

Matija Ražem

VP of Business Development at Infobip

Shkumbin Hamiti, Head of Network Monetization Platform, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, said: “This partnering agreement reflects our ongoing commitment to work closely with the developer community. It is about expanding choice and scale and giving developers a one-stop shop for extracting value from Infobip’s and Nokia’s platforms. We look forward to working with Infobip and maximizing our respective technologies.”

Infobip Shift Miami secures growing attendance in its second year

The return of the Croatian developer conference to the US cements Infobip’s position in the critical American market.

Miami, US, April 24, 2024 – Infobip Shift Miami, the American edition of the Infobip developer conference, this week brought together a diverse technology-sector audience on the shores of Florida. The conference, now in its second year, secured growing attendance with more than 400 attendees and top speakers from the developer industry and an expanded program across two days.

The expansion of the program was the biggest evolution this year, driven by feedback and interest from the developer community. We secured more partners and exhibitors this year, as well as speakers and attendees from more than 300 different companies. We saw growing national attendance with guests coming from tech hubs such as San Francisco and New York, as well as Miami and the surrounding region. It’s not easy to stand out in a busy event schedule, so the popularity of Shift Miami this year demonstrates how our American audience has recognized the quality Infobip Shift delivers. We now have a solid foundation on which to build future editions.”

Nikola Radišić

Head of the Infobip Shift team

API solutions focus

Infobip Shift Miami impressed attendees with speakers discussing the latest API developments on the stage of the Perez Art Museum. Founders and CEOs of successful companies, such as Matt Biilmann from Netlify and Christine Spang from Nylas, led the line-up of more than 20 software experts. Other speakers included experts from well-known companies, such as Camunda, Data Protocol, Akamai, Cisco, Nokia and Infobip.

In addition to speeches, Infobip held workshops during the conference, providing attendees with the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals. This year, the conference focused on API solutions, which enable the fast and seamless operation of various software and are essential in the developer industry.

Building relationships with the developer community

This year marks the second consecutive year in which Infobip will host two conferences on two continents. Although smaller than its European counterpart, Shift Miami shows growth in all areas in its second year.

We are proud to be among the handful of companies hosting technology events on two continents. This year’s progress is another step towards building the developer community on a global scale. We are excited to see the Shift brand growing in America, which also helps Infobip continue to build its reputation in the American market, but also supports are plans of expanding to the Latin America and Asia.”

Nikola Pavešić

Director of Developer Experience and Startups at Infobip

After Miami, Infobip Shift will gather the developer community in Croatia. The leading technology event in Southeast Europe will return to Zadar on 16 and 17 September this year.
