€1.8M investment in security and infrastructure

Director of Marketing EMEA

In the past six months we’ve invested €1.8 million in infrastructure and processes to ensure we remain at the cutting edge of information security and consistent technical performance. The investment will also help guarantee that we continue to meet stringent data protection requirements as we upgrade our service portfolio and expand our client-facing, real-time analytics and reporting capabilities.

Among the improvements brought about with this investment are the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 and ISO 9001:2008 certification.

ISO 27001 is one of the leading international information security standards, while ISO 9001 certifies a company’s operational excellence and a high service quality level.

This latest investment will enable us to maintain our position at the forefront of information security and continue to meet current and future expectations of our customers and partners. The two new certifications are the latest in a long list of security and service quality milestones reached by Infobip in recent months.

Silvio Kutic – Infobip’s founder and CEO

Infobip’s €1.8 million investment to enhance security was preceded by an earlier investment of several million euros to upgrade the company’s infrastructure. In addition to this, the company’s SSMS service was recently found to be fully compliant with the PCI DSS standard and is therefore trusted to process sensitive cardholder data.

Director of Marketing EMEA

LONDON, UK, 5 November 2014 – Infobip, the global provider of mobile messaging and payments services, today announced it has been credited with the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for data protection. In addition the company has achieved the ISO 9001:2008 standard, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to provide its global customer base with a secure, top-performing messaging and payments platform.

The joint certifications follow Infobip’s investment of €1.8 million in the past six months to ensure it remains at the cutting edge of information security and consistent technical performance. The investment will also help guarantee that Infobip continues to meet stringent data protection requirements as the company upgrades its service portfolio and expands its client-facing, real-time analytics and reporting capabilities.

Infobip’s €1.8 million investment to enhance security was also preceded by an earlier investment of several million euros to upgrade the company’s infrastructure.

ISO 27001 is internationally recognised as one of the leading information security standards, while ISO 9001 is concerned with ensuring a consistently high level of service quality. Now, Infobip has been independently certified as meeting both these data protection and management quality standards.

“These two new certifications are the latest in a long list of security and service quality milestones reached by Infobip in recent months. By achieving these ISO standards we have demonstrated our ongoing commitment to provide a trusted and reliable service,” said Silvio Kutic, CEO at Infobip. “This latest investment will maintain our position at the forefront of information security, ensuring we continue to meet the current, and future, expectations of our customers and partners.”

Infobip is routinely audited and examined against a number of international security standards. In addition to these two ISO certifications, Infobip was recently found to be one of few mobile messaging providers to fully comply with PCI DSS and therefore trusted to handle sensitive cardholder data.

Umniah-Infobip partnership offers direct mobile billing options to customers

Director of Marketing EMEA

Amman, Jordan, 21 October 2014 – Infobip has recently strengthened its partnership with Umniah to offer an alternative direct mobile billing service to its subscribers. The new payment method is the first such service to be offered in the Jordanian market.

Umniah users now have access to a more convenient payment method that includes virtual credits and tokens on their favourite games, social networks, multimedia content, and smartphone apps. The alternative method allows subscribers to be directly billed through their mobile phone accounts.

Currently Jordan’s fastest-growing mobile operator, Umniah has gained a strong reputation among users for ensuring quality excellence at affordable prices. With a large proportion of smartphone users being in their twenties, the growth trend is guaranteed to continue.

Infobip’s partnership with Umniah, which has strengthened over the past year, will help Umniah gain insight into the mobile habits and preferences of its younger users. Overall, the Middle East has a very lucrative ICT industry with major investments being directed towards the sector’s infrastructure and connectivity; this is a direct result of growing demand for digital and mobile services.

As there has been a growing demand for mobile content in recent years, mobile operators, content providers and app developers will have new monetising opportunities coupled with a more convenient payment method. The fact that micropayments made via direct mobile billing services do not require any bank transactions or credit cards, makes it all the more popular among customers.

In recent years, Infobip has placed its focus on collaborating closely with operators to offer new mobile services which bridge the gap between content providers and mobile subscribers. Partnerships such as the one with Umniah, directly benefit the local economy as well as create new business opportunities.

Presenting Social Invites – the ultimate app referral choice

Director of Marketing EMEA

Zoha Tapia

Director of Marketing EMEA

What better way to promote an app than to enable satisfied users to be its ambassadors on their own terms?

Who better to target than an audience highly receptive to the opinion of a friend? Social Invites does just that, leveraging a user’s personal connections to deliver product invites directly to mobile phones of potential new users – and it is does so by using the only messaging standard adopted by all mobile phones, SMS.

From within the app, users can send an SMS to their phone contacts and invite them to download the app. The SMS comes free for the user and the incoming SMS is displayed as coming from a contact, which guarantees it will be read – and that’s not even the best part.

ACQUIRING NEW USERS IN TWO SIMPLE STEPS

The SMS contains a download link that directly takes users to the download page of the OS-appropriate app store, preventing them from being side-tracked by competitors’ products. This allows you to convert the users when their interest level is at its highest. All the user needs to do is open the SMS and click the link!

Integrating Social Invites in your app requires a minimum of effort from your side. Our developers’ library and API liberates your resources, allowing you to focus on the most important thing for an app – user experience.

Completely customisable user interface for selecting contacts and tracking invite statuses blends seamlessly in any visual identity, regardless of the mobile OS.

Sounds interesting? Download our Social Invites brochure to explore and learn more.

Audioteka, the leading Polish platform for digital audiobooks has implemented Infobip’s professional push notifications for their mobile app.

This popular cloud-based service with unlimited free storage for audiobooks, online bookmarks synchronization, and cross-platform access has added our unique Push notifications solution to their standard communication channels.

They are now implementing audience targeting by genre, author, publishing year etc. Because not everyone has the same preferences – a comic fantasy fan surely wants to receive a notification about Terry Pratchett’s new book, but maybe isn’t interested in Jo Nesbø’s next gritty story.

The push notification service turns out to be very popular with Audioteka customers. The active push notification registrations number is growing steadily, with a growth rate of 50% versus a previous month. In order to start receiving these useful updates users need to update their Audioteka app to the newest version.

More good news could come in soon from this company that cooperates with more than 400 publishers and offers over 20,000 titles of all genres, 9 languages. Audioteka is expanding rapidly-more audiobooks in Polish, Czech, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, and Lithuanian are expected to appear soon and delight book fans across Europe.

Russia: New mobile advertising platform available

Director of Marketing EMEA

Zoha Tapia

Director of Marketing EMEA

Mobile advertising is one of the fastest-growing segments in the business today, allowing you to effectively position your product on the market and among your target audience. Leveraged properly, it enables an effective communication with selected audiences, overcoming one of the key problems businesses are facing in today’s saturated mobile advertising environment.

Building on our close cooperation with Russian mobile operators, we have created an all-in-one advertising platform which will enable our clients to target specific customer segments in Russia. With this solution, properly targeting a desired destination becomes much easier, dramatically cuts costs and vastly improves the overall success rate and impact of marketing campaigns.

The flexible platform allows advertisers to customise numerous targeting parameters in detail, effectively communicating your campaign to its audience. Manipulating parameters such as age and gender, average revenue, phone OS and model, geo-targeting and movement trajectories, music preferences, roaming directions and frequency, gives you an unprecedented set of tools to increase the chance of hitting big with your audience.

Your messages in the spotlight

Not having to rely on other media such as TV or websites to get your message across makes this type of targeted SMS-based mobile advertising extremely effective. Around 98% of users read incoming messages and 56% take action when seeing ads on their own mobile devices. Close partnerships with MNOs and in-house developed technology allow us to guarantee top delivery rates and instant traffic processing. By adjusting just several parameters, you can start generating even better results.

Then, combine that impact with other Infobip services to learn more about your customers. Our 2-way SMS service provides the possibility to receive a response from your clients and establish a dialogue, or use our Campaign Manager to run marketing campaigns with different ways of engaging consumers – sweepstakes, polls, broadcasts or the ever-popular SMS coupons.

Infobip extends 2-way SMS messaging coverage to 40 countries

Director of Marketing EMEA

LONDON, UK, 21 August 2014 – Mobile messaging and payments provider Infobip announced today it has extended its 2-way SMS messaging coverage to 40 countries, including the U.S., Brazil, China, India, Russia, South Africa and Mexico. Infobip customers now have access to one of the largest 2-way SMS coverage sets in the world, as supported by a single technical provider.

2-way SMS messaging enables online businesses, service providers, application developers, marketing agencies and other companies to unlock the full potential of instant, time-sensitive mobile consumer interaction. 2-way SMS can help businesses create a dialogue with customers, drive sales and even manage something as straightforward as appointment booking.

For every country covered, Infobip can provide national numbers or short codes for receiving inbound SMS messages. Infobip also provides comprehensive front end management, reporting tools and high-quality performance and delivery over its proprietary platform, which processes over 1.5 billion SMS messages monthly. Connecting to Infobip’s infrastructure takes no time at all. It can be accessed over an SMS API, or through user-friendly web applications with campaign management features.

“The value of 2-way SMS has been demonstrated by the wide range of businesses now implementing it. Our 2-way SMS service has already been used for global reservations systems, CRM and customer service platforms and extended 2-factor authentication. In each of these cases businesses have improved reach and the level of customer interaction,” says Silvio Kutic, Infobip founder and CEO.

“Delivering a 2-way SMS service is about much more than providing a mobile number to receive SMS. Infobip also delivers technical expertise and consultancy, providing 24/7 technical support. We offer global and local support through our worldwide offices and we have close relationships with the mobile operators in those markets. Local presence enables us to leverage our local market knowledge, such as how businesses should address the different telecoms regulations that vary from country to country,” Kutic concluded.

Kenya: Top up online with M-Pesa, yuCash and Airtel Money

Director of Marketing EMEA

Zoha Tapia

Director of Marketing EMEA

Good news from Kenya – businesses and developers can now top up their Infobip SMS credits with M-Pesa, yuCash and Airtel Money m-wallets. The proces is easy: just select the iPay option in the payments web interface.

Given that a large portion of Kenyan overall financial traffic is conducted over m-wallets, adding them as an online payments option has been a necessity for Infobip, considering the recent growth of our operations established in Kenya. Small and medium businesses in particular regard m-wallets as a reliable and convenient method in business transacting and for sure they will now have a much easier access to Infobip’s professional messaging services.

Bank transfers and e-banking options are also available from Infobip’s TopUp system.

Depending on the m-wallet you use, the system will guide you through the few things you need to do on your phone in order to transfer funds from the m-wallet.
